"Tell Me Why" as written by Liz Rose and Taylor Swift....
I took a chance, I took a shot
And you might think I'm bulletproof, but I'm not
You took a swing, I took it hard
And down here from the ground I see who you are

I'm sick and tired of your attitude
I'm feeling like I don't know you
You tell me that you love me then you cut me down

And I need you like a heartbeat
But you know you got a mean streak
Makes me run for cover when you're around
And here's to you and your temper
Yes, I remember what you said last night
And I know that you see what you're doing to me
Tell me why

You could write a book on how to ruin someone's perfect day
Well I get so confused and frustrated
Forget what I'm trying to say, oh

I'm sick and tired of your reasons
I got no one to believe in
You tell me that you want me, then push me around

And I need you like a heartbeat
But you know you got a mean streak
Makes me run for cover when you're around
And here's to you and your temper
Yes, I remember what you said last night
And I know that you see what you're doing to me
Tell me why

Why, do you have to make me feel small
So you can feel whole inside
Why, do you have to put down my dreams
So you're the only thing on my mind

Well I'm sick and tired of your attitude
I'm feeling like I don't know you
You tell me that you want me then cut me down
I'm sick and tired of your reasons
I've got no one to believe in

You ask me for my love then you push me around
Here's to you and your temper
Yes, I remember what you said last night
And I know that you see what you're doing to me
Tell me why
Why, tell me why

I take a step back, let you go
I told you I'm not bulletproof
Now you know

General Commenti think its about a guy who's un aware of how much he's hurting a girl. Could be for many reasons..... him changing, moodswings, him having a girlfriend... etc....

in my case its about a guy who's changing..... he's changing into someone that at the beginning of the year he would hate to be...... now he's leaving everything behind... he's gonna ditch his friends because he thinks he's too "cool" to hang around them, he's being pressured into smoking and i think he's gonna start soon, he's drinking more now. Im just getting sick of his attitude towards everyone - i feel like i dont even know him anymore.....it's just not him. "im sick and tired of your attitude, im feeling like i don't know you". This isnt the guy that i fell for. Can anyone help me out? cause i really dont know what to do! X

General Commenti can completely relate to this song..

i think its about a girl who's liked a boy for a while
but possibly he's with another girl or something (in my case he is)
but some days he will tell her how much he likes her and how he wishes he could be with her and alll that jazz
.. then other days he's completely in love with his girlfriend
this boy has the girl so confused and he knows how much he's messing with her..

okay that's all i get from the song out of a totally personal experience.
    it sucks :(

General Commenti think "i took a swing" is more symbolical, not literal.
    i hope.

General CommentAs a surviver of domestic violence i find this song extremely liberating.
sure the meaning, she meant may not be the one that i think it is but to me...
this song shows a girl stuck in an abusive realtionship
    "took a chance"
to me shows she didnt really know the guy, and same was for me... i didnt know him.

But i need to let everyone know,
that there are many people who will play the victim card, and i dont want to ever let that become me.
I am who i am, and i have so much love to give... he wasnt worth it.

Dont let a guy make me feel like your nothing, cuz chances are.. your amazing, so amazing that he thinks controlling you is the only way to keep you around.
    But that isnt true.

Dont shy away from people just because one guy treated you badly, take what you learnt from it and love more. care more and make the son of a bitch remember that your wonderful. :)

General CommentShe still loves him, although he abuses her. She knows he is just an explosive bomb that isn't good for her, but she doesn't see why he has to be so cruel. She doesn't understand why he just tries and tried to control her.

"You might think I'm bulletproof, but I'm not"
    ^^ my favorite line <3

General CommentThis song, in my opinion, is about a guy that you thought you knew. He seemed like a perfect guy and you fell for him but in reality he is a jerk that only cares about himself and has a HUGE temper. He is a hole but you didn't see it till he hurt you ("And down here from the ground I see who you are"). He tells you one thing and then goes and does the opposite...and he has to know what he's doing to you because it's obvious you're hurting. He doesn't care though...I just went through this and came across this song by chance. It has helped me through this soo much. THANK YOU TAYLOR!!!!

General Commentthis is obvious. she loves this guy still and she did whatever she thought she could to keep it alive but he just turned it sour and just got mean (ha, relatable...) so now even though it hurts this bad, she's letting it go because he's not treating her right and she wants to know why. i love this song probably because i'm going thtough the same thing right now but it's got a great sound, i just lovvvve it

General CommentI sincerely hope that the third and fourth lines didn't physically happen to her. What kind of a-hole boyfriend hits a girl? Well, one that got broken up with as we can see! Even though no one's actually hit me, I can really relate to this song. There've been guys who treated me like shit and it was just a vicious cycle of mean-ness all around, but eventually we grew up and got over it. Now I'm really thankful for them because they made me so much stronger as my own person and if any future flame does anything to hurt me, physically or not, I can hold my own and dish it right back twice as strong. Thanks boys!!

General CommentThis is one of my favorite songs of Taylor's.
I was waiting around for this guy for the first two years of high school, and he kept telling me that he wanted to date me, yet he always had another girlfriend. When I'd confront him about it, he'd get mad and say I was being unfair, blah blah blah. He always told me of how we were going to be the perfect couple but then he'd act like he didn't know me the next day. So I was tired of his games so I told his girlfriend everything. He initially comes back to me and started screaming at me in the hallway at school saying I was a stalker. Hah. Right, because it was definately me calling him at 2 in the morning for "favors."
"Yes, I remember what you said last night."
Anyway, I took the whole "stalker" thing pretty hard and lost all of my friends because of that. I cried for weeks actually. I eventually got over him and realized what a stupid person he is and how dumb I was for believing him in the first place. I can't look him in the eye when I see him anymore.
"I take a step back, let you go, I told you I'm not bulletproof, now you know.
Sorry this is so long, but that's how the song relates to me.
