I used to dress in black every night
I used to dress in black every night
But something happened to me
Something happened to me
And now... I dress in white

You used to get it wrong every night
You used to get it wrong every night
And there was nothing left to do
But pump high voltage into you
And now... you mostly get it right

And you were blinded for the moment
By my country and western star ship last night
You were tumbling and bumbling
Like a bird that's just had it's wings clipped...in flight

And the congregation of the player begins to sing
They were such delinquents joining the kill
Of the soft steaming shits demanding...
Gay bar part 2

Hey

I used to dress in black every night
Now I dress primarily in white
And I was under duress
removed my pants and my vest
...and now I'm undressed tonight

And you were silenced for the moment
By my peter paul and mary box set
...last night
You were tumbling and bumbling like a pugilist being pummeled
...in flight

And the leagues of evil temper began to sing
And the menacing ending caused you such fright
There's something very wrong with you

So let's stay in tonight
She was my dark angel every night
She was my dark angel every night

Something happened to her
Something happened to her
And now... she's white

Song MeaningI get the feeling that the band was really irritated by people asking them to write a sequel to Gay Bar...

If they changed labels, I think it may be a middle finger extended in the general direction of the old one.

General CommentThis is such a great narcissistic song and a great opener to the new album. It's hard to find a line that isn't a self-reference.

General CommentI thought this was gonna be my favorite song on the new album
Not that every note on the cd isn't a musical orgasm to the ear
Nothing in common with the original but still incredible
About a change of some sort, for him and his angel
    Symbolized by black to white
A lot of classic interpretations for that...

General CommentWhat's with the reference to There's Something Very Wrong With Us So Let's Go Out Tonight, Be My Dark Angel and She's White? I acknowledge that they are great songs anyway. She's White is my favourite Electric Six song.

    Lyric CorrectionSo many incorrect lyrics!

I used to dress in black every night
I used to dress in black every night
    But something happened to me
    Something happened to me
    And now
    I dress in white
You used to get it wrong every night
You used to get it wrong every night
And there was nothing left to do
But pump high voltage into you
    And now
    You mostly get it right
And you were blinded for a moment
By my country and western starship
    Last night
    You were tumbling and bumbling
Like a bird that just had its wings clipped
    During flight
And then the congregation of the prayer begins to sing
    Ahh!!!
They were sick deliquents joining the queue
Of the soft steaming shits demanding
    Gay Bar part two!
    Hey!
    Solo!
I used to dress in black every night
Now I dress primarily in white
    And I was under duress
Removed my pants and my vests
    And now I'm undressed tonight
And you were silenced for a moment
By my 'Peter, Paul and Mary' box set
    Last night
    You were crumbling and mumbling
    Like a pugilist being pummeled
    In fight
And the names of evil temper begin to sing
    Ahh!
And I've never seen anything cause you such fright
There's something very wrong with you
    So let's stay in tonight
    Hey!
She was my dark angel every night
She was my dark angel every night
    Something happened to her
    Something happened to her
    And now she's white!
