"Rules And Games" as written by Gareth Davies, Matthew Davies, Ryan Richards, Kris Roberts and Darran Anthony Smith....
Define the marks, prepare to laugh
So sorry you never had your reasons
Loose the lips and sink the ships
A cycle broken and abused

Rules and games, playful moments
That won't last no matter how we feel
Ropes that strain to catch the picture frames
No never, what is real

Avenues we all confuse
These maps will make them disappear
Mountains sides, your feelings lie
For better sense without your fear

Rules and games, playful moments
That won't last no matter how we feel
Ropes that strain to catch the picture frames
No never, what is real

Stay with me now, now you can hide away
Stay with me now, driving the lights away
Stay with me now, now we can find away

Rules and games, playful moments
That won't last no matter how we feel
Ropes that strain to catch the picture frames
No never, what is real

General CommentI'm absoluting loving Memory & Humanity! The album gives off FFAF's older works, like those in their Hours album. The drumming, guitar melodies/chords and the vocals just harmonize so perfectly.
Even though there's visibly a lack thereof screaming elements compared to their previous works, It feels as though I'm listening to a symphony. Great album to listen to if you're angered or in desperate need of a mind massage.
As for this song's meaning, it's all very cryptic to me.
But to me, the title gives one interpretation away.
"Rules and Games" makes me think of childhood, where as kids we'd play games like tag or hide and seek and we'd have rules to them. I think the song is symbolic of innocence and happiness, and how we desperately cling onto these moments, to savour the these traits/feelings. Because we know how very temporary they are now matter how consumed we are in the depth of our joy, it'll soon be overruled by the pains of reality.

    General Commentnow = no*.
I don't know about you, but to me 'amused' sounds more like 'abused'. i fear i may need a hearing aid in the near future if it isn't the case.

As for the meaning, to me the chorus and verse after clearly outline how attached and easy life seemed to be when we're younger, structure and guidelines of what to do, and as you get older you stray into the unknown and have to make your own choices without all those guidelines, with the last verse seeming to say how if they stick together they'll help each other out and make it through together.

    Lemme know what you reckon!
