You see the night is all I have to make me feel
And all I want is just a love to make it hurt
Cause all I need is something fine to make me lose
Now it's a funny way I find myself with you

Because a song is all I have to make me feel
And all it takes is just a love to make it hurt
And every sound arranged in time can make me lose
Now it's a funny way I find myself with you

But now there's nothing left to do but waste my time
I never knew where to move one,
I never knew what to rely on
And now there's nothing left to say to change your mind
And if you're unhappy still,
I will be hanging on your line should you return
should you return
should you return

Cause the night is all I have to make me feel
And all I want is just a dream to make it worthwhile
Cause all I need is someone close to make me lose
Now it's a funny way I find myself with you

But now there's nothing left to do but waste my time
I never knew where to move on,
I never knew what to rely upon
But now there's nothing left to say,
To change your mind
And if you're unhappy still,
I will be hanging on your line

But now there's nothing left to do to Draw your eyes
(but now there's nothing left to do)
I never knew where to move on,
I never knew what to rely upon
But now there's nothing left to say to change your mind
And if you're just sinking down,
I will pulling on your line

But now there's nothing left to do but Waste my time
I never knew where to move on,
I never knew what to rely upon
But now there's nothing left to say to change your mind
And if you're unhappy still,
I will be hanging on your line should you return
should you return
should you return

General CommentSounds like the song is talking about how he's afraid of hurt and loss and how he will repeatedly throw himself into these situations. The only way he can lose/get hurt is if he's with the thing that he can potentially lose/get hurt by. "All I need is a love to make it hurt". This song is a testament to that and is him expressing himself. "Cause this song is all I have to make me feel". Even though he gets hurt he'll still be there. "and if you're unhappy still I'll be hanging on your line should you return"... Just my take. Second fav Copeland song next to "Love is a Fast Song"... Such an amazing band filled with heart!!

General CommentThis song is so amazing, the best way to open the new album. It was hard to make it to the rest of the album cause I was listening to this song over and over.

General CommentI feel like some of the meaning of this song is that:

Through this song he is able to be connected to reality--at least letting him "feel alive"

General CommentThen he compares this to love to make it relative and see just how hurt he is. "just a love to make it hurt" or a certain thing that happened which really was jab and made this kind of love sting/hurt

Every word unspoken "sound erased in time" makes it worse, makes him loose it more, and in the end confuses his relationship even more "now its a funny way I find myself with you" and he is unsure of where they stand in the continuing cycle of things not said.

any other ideas, feedback, or thoughts?

General CommentMy favorite Copeland song. I think it's my favorite because it haunts me and reminds me of a shitty experience that i've been through. Bleh.

Unrequited love seems to be the theme to me. Or at least that's what I'd like it to be about. Sucks to be in that dilemma.

My Interpretationhm.....its about, after the break up...he still want to come back to her.

But now there's nothing left to do but waste my time
I never knew where to move one,
I never knew where to rely on
And now there's nothing left to say to change your mind
And if you're are unhappy still,
I will be hanging on your line should you return, should you return, should you return
