I swear death is closer than you think and hell is just a stones throw away.
You work for that daily bread.
You sing a song that comforts you.
The tune is useless.
You are not invincible.
Death believe how sweet you are.
You slave and save to be someone you do not love.
Dare me to break another vow I made.
And no one saying thank you to the one who needs the credit.
You cry when your life is a mess and you care when you are affected.
Was there even an ounce of doubt?
You just keep on singing that song.
What is the point of living if its all for yourself.
When you find another exit let me know.

My InterpretationThis song is about people in the church who act out their faith through action, but don't really act it out in their heart with God. "The tune is useless" is basically saying that you can sing the songs (walk the walk) all you want, but it doesn't really mean anything unless you say "thank you to the one who needs the credit", or God.

It says "you slave and save to be someone you do not love," meaning that you try so hard to be what you're supposed to be as a Christian, but you're really not getting anywhere. I think the whole song can be summed up with one of the final lines, "What's the point of living if it's all for yourself?"

The part about finding another exit is saying that if you can find a way out of this world without giving credit to "the one who needs the credit", let me know (I'm curious).

Good song by the way, one of my favorites on the album. A few of the words are wrong in the lyrics here, but nothing major.
