You've got files on me, little girl
I've got your number (I'm callin' in)
You've got files on me, little girl
I've got your number (I'm callin' in)

Exhausted bodies in bed
Fallin' asleep with the lights on
Skip the "you don't understand"
Skip the "you're such a petty man"
Skip the way you'll never listen
You never listen

I've got files on you, little girl
You've got my number (Don't call, don't call it in)

Back to the start
You call the planet a star
Or something else of consequence
I can lose my wits so easily
And you're circlin' around
Baby won't you bring me down

You've got files on me, little girl
I've got your number (I'm callin' in, callin' it in)
You've got files on me, little girl
I've got your number (I'm callin' in, callin' it in)

We go round and round and round and round
We go round and round and around and round
We go around and around and around and around
We go around and around and around and around

You've got the files on me, don't you?
I'm not saying that you're wrong
You've got the files on me, don't you?
I'm not saying that you're wrong

You've got the files on me, don't you?
I can't say that you are wrong
You've got the files on me, don't you?
I can't say that you are wrong
You've got the files, you've got the files on me, don't you?
I can't say that you are wrong

You've got my number.

General CommentSounds to me like two people who are quick to blame each other, or to bring up things from the past... something like that. Great song.

General CommentIt's such a good song. I hope they release a non-acoustic version too.

General CommentI am really enjoying the Acoustics EP, especially this one. Its about a guy who is in a long term (you've got files on me, I've got files on you" relationship that has become nothing but petty arguments. He still enjoys the sex, but is real tired of the fighting.

General Commentthis song is interesting cause it is told backwards. to me, it is about a relationship gone wrong. the fighting consists of pointless arguments but they both have their reasons for breaking it off. he misses the girl but doesnt know if he should call her or not. they both were hurt and he's not sure if it would be worth it again.

General Commentbasically, what i get out of this is that it's a relationship thats just been going no where for a while to the point where the two now hate one another, but.. threaten to ruin each other's lives- somewhat?

General Commentthis one goes out to anyone whos read Groege Orwell's novel "1984"
i'm writing a literary critizism on it and i need opinions
this song is kind of refering to Winston and Julia's relationship
she knew so much about winston and winston only knew what she looked like really
and then throw in how the Thought Police watched Winston for such a long time
    viola
    anybody agree?
