I will be with you always by your side, that’s what she said.
Times are a changing, but I’ll make it work, so I tell myself.
I can’t believe this is where we end up, but I guess I’m not surprised
All of my time, I threw it all away. It’s not give and take.

Slam goes the door, your walking out on me
You’re not what I need, your birds gonna fly
Slam goes the door, your walking out on me
I’m here left to bleed, watching the time go by.

I got you out of my mind things work out for the best, so I told myself
I just need some time, so give me some space, thats what she said.

I can’t believe this is where we end up, but I guess I’m not surprised
I don’t care what you say it doesn’t mean a thing

General Commentcant beleive im the first to comment on this song..

The meaning is pretty obvious, a broken hearted anthem. Weve all been there.

Kinda crazy but Ive been thru the exact same scenario of this song.

In the beginning she says she will always be there then sooner or later said she needs some time and space and leaves him. It sounds like the singer never got over her, and by saying your birds gonna fly means shes going onto better things.

General CommentExcellent song, musically. Lyrics are straight forward and pretty easily interpreted:

At the start, everything is great. Words are easily slung, both good and bad. Lust starts to fade, true characters are revealed. The relationship isn't give and take, it breaks down. One breaks free, the other breaks down.
