Is that it, my friend
come to the end
only two days now
you've let us descend
to the prince of the desert
the prince in the sand
did he ask for your love?
did he ask for your hand?

Is that it, my friend
the end of it all
did you wait till i break?
did you wait till i fall?
i was lost in your river
now I come to a dam
to question the boy
to question the man

and I long to be with you
and I long to be free
and I long to be with you
and I long to be free
not for my jealousy...

Is that it, my friend
just say goodnight
well I hope you sleep well
and I hope you sleep tight
I hope in your dreams
that he loves your eyes
like i did just for awhile...

Is that it, my friend
just say goodnight
well I hope you sleep well
I hope you sleep tight
I was lost in your river
now i come to a Dam
to question the boy
to question the man...

and I long to be with you
and I long to be free
and I long to be with you
and I long to be free
not for my jealousy...

and I'm alright, now...
yes, I'm alright now...

General CommentI think this song is about maybe a fling he had with someone or maybe even the aftermath of a relationship where she left him for someone else. Or he was in love with someone, like a crush and watched her get swept away by someone else.

General Commentit's about a man whose girlfriend left him for another man. he is very bitter and saddened by it. he is trying to jab at her were little things about their love that he thinks might get to her--"I hope in your dreams that he loves your eyes like i did." perhaps the "my friend" is yet another jab, as when the girl left him she may have said, "we should just be friends." so, by using it here, he is using it bitterly. by telling her to "just say goodnight," he's saying he wants her to leave and get out of his life because she hurt him.
