"Happily Never After" as written by Shaffer Smith and Robert Shea Taylor....
I don't think I want this anymore
As she drops the ring to the floor
She says to herself "you've left before
This time you will stay gone, that's for sure"
And he shattered something else
She dragged her suitcase down the path
To the driveway she had never gone that far
Normally this would be the time
That she would let him talk her out of leaving
But this time without crying
As she got into her car, she said

No happily never after, that just ain't for me
Because finally
I know I deserve better after all
I'll never let another teardrop fall

As she drove away, she starts to smile
Realize she hadn't for a while
No destination she drove for miles
Wondering why she stayed in such denial
Laughing about the way he shattered something else
She dragged her suitcase down the path
To the driveway she had never gone that far
Normally this would be the time
That she would let him talk her out of leaving
But this time without crying
As she got into her car, she said

No happily never after, that just ain't for me
Because finally
I know I deserve better after all
I'll never let another teardrop fall

I'm done, I'm done
Said I'm so done
I'm so done
I'm so done

I'm free, I'm free
Said I'm so free
I'm so free
I'm so free

She inhaled a breath, she'd never breathe before
Didn't want no drama no more, and she said

No happily never after, that just ain't for me
Because finally
I know I deserve better after all
I'll never let another teardrop fall ooh, no ooh

No happily never after, that just ain't for me
Because finally
I know I deserve better after all
I'll never let another teardrop fall ooh, no ooh

Another teardrop fall
I never let no, I never let no, I never let another teardrop

General CommentAgree with Frankie ^ She's tried to leave before and she knows she should and she finally breaks free. Love the line 'As she drove away she starts to smile' because it's like she's finally content.
    beautiful song.

General CommentI believe this song is about more than just a couple breaking up; I think its about a couple getting divorced (so much more traumatic!) due to the line:
"I don't think I want this anymore, as she drops the ring to the floor"

Not to mention, marriage is often seen as a 'Happily Ever After' scenario, and in the song it seems that her (marriage) turned out 'Happily Never After' maybe...?

Overall, great song and it helped me get through my own divorce. Amazing how music can lift the spirit :]

General CommentJust wanna say that this song is a really good song & i really like this song! But i just wanna let everyone who's a The Pussycat Dolls fan know that they did take this song from the Backstreet Boys! It's an unreleased track that didnt make it on there newest cd "Unbreakable" that came out in 2007! If i had to pick between BSB's & The Pussycat Dolls version nothing again the version that the dolls did but, BSB's version is way better & if u havent heard BSB's go download it & im sure you'll agree with me!!!!

My OpinionThe lyrics are ordinary, however I'm in love with this song!! It's so cute, and affective. Better than the Backstreet Boys version, because it's more simple, and sounds more meaningful..

General CommentI haven't heard that BSB version but Ne-yo originally wrote this for Britney Spears but he got fed up with her unproffesional acts and gave it to Nichole Scherenzinger to sing.. apparently she's a huge Britney fan, notice how she changes her voice to ssound like Britney not her normal singing voice
