Ready or not, it's winter again
That wonderful time when
we go inside our heads
Reflect and deny
It's been a battle year after year
Planning on winning by a landslide
if I can control the fire in my eyes

This new year my resolution will hold
I'm gonna take my sledgehammer
I'm gonna break the mold
This new year my resolution will hold
I'm gonna take my sledgehammer
I'm gonna break the mold

Even with all my stitches
the incision is too deep
Too deep to heal
That's why I'll write this down
so everybody knows it
And I can't ignore the way I feel

This new year my resolution will hold
I'm gonna take my sledgehammer
I'm gonna break the mold
This new year my resolution will hold
I'm gonna take my sledgehammer
I'm gonna break the mold
This new year my resolution will hold
I'm gonna take my sledgehammer
I'm gonna break the mold

General CommentI believe that this song is more of realization than regret. She constantly talks about her resolution and breaking the mold. Its like she's saying her wounds are from feeling like she's been living her life for others and not herself. The part about controlling the fire in her eyes is like saying she's furious about giving so much and being let down so the only recourse is to completely abandon what has controlled her life and stop fighting for something that will not fight with or for her.
