"We Can Breathe In Space, They Just Don't Want Us To Escape (New Version)" as written by Roughton Reynolds, Chris Batten, Liam Rory Clewlow and Robert Rolfe....
And what comes next
A chance to save ourselves
Imagine magma encrusted in rock
And on the surface of this world
All eyes are on the clock
All our empires, our philosophies
Our practiced faiths, our revolutions
Our proud sciences are but a flickering
In one day of the lives of the stars

We can breathe in space
They just don't want us to escape
We can breathe in space
They just don't want us to escape

And what comes next
The constellations, yes, all 88 of them
A chance to save ourselves
Like the G8, they meet to procrastinate
Greetings, we are an infant species
Crawling into our own premature decline
The north star is chairing the meeting
He knows we're spoilt
And he's sniggering at our histories

We can breathe in space
They just don't want us to escape
We can breathe in space
They just don't want us to escape

The hollow proposals mean we'll migrate
But they'll bleed us dry until the 11th hour
And when dawn breaks I'll sit and stagnate
With this metric tonne on your shoulders
How do you cope
We are an infant species
Crawling into our own premature decline
The north star is chairing the meeting
He knows we're spoilt
And he's sniggering at our histories

Let's prove the stars wrong
We've got to do this

I find it hard to believe that we are alone.

General CommentI still can't tell what this song is going on about, really. But I have a few corrections for you.

At the end "Lets move the ....." should be "Lets prove the stars wrong" (I think).

Also, when their guitarist sings 'He doesn't score', it sounds more like 'spoil', to me.

And, I think instead of 'Drawn on the surface', it's just 'And on the surface of the globe..'

Let's hope the single has the lyrics in the sleeve o.O

As for meanings.. Well.. I dunno. Could it be about an alien species looking at our species, and at how 'premature' we are? It seems to be about how we're going to destroy ourselves or something, but that we might be able to overcome it?
I dunno.. Seems like a lot is going on in this song.

When I first listened to it, I didn't like it. I much preferred the older version (I liked the 'Drop it buster' and "We're.. Not... Alone" parts xD) but this quickly grew on me. Pre-ordered the single already.

My Opinionits a great song its really touchin.. i duno why.. melody?.. but the meaning has got something to do about other people in the space.. nd how theyre lookin at us.. and in the end is talking about that how hard it is to believe thats theres no one else in the space.. and that we are the only planet 'alive' in the space
