"Relief" as written by and Nathan Willett Matthew Maust....
Flash flood
You got too comfortable
So I showed you who's really in control
You gave all your savings to the poor

Lightning on the river
And you're shivering with your fishing pole
Same night you bought a ring and you proposed

You never really know what you can't really see
I'll be fair, I'll be fair
You made it out alive, oh, what a relief
I'll be fair, I'll be fair

Earthquake in your pajamas
Huddled in doorways
While your houses sway
Blue blood pumping a hunter's fist

I love the shape
Your faces make
Oh my, thank you for keeping me safe
Even though you know it don't always go that way

You never really know what you can't really see
I'll be there, I'll be there
You made it out alive, oh, what a relief
I'll be there, I'll be there

Everything will be explained
Your wild guess
Everything will be explained
Go ahead
Everything will be explained
Your wild guess
Everything will be explained

General CommentTo me it kind of seems like a song from God to people on Earth.

    "Flashflood, you got too comfortable
So I showed you, who's really in control"
    Noah and the ark?

'Oh my thank you for keeping me safe'
    Maybe a prayer?

"You never really know what you can't really see
I'll be there, I'll be there"
You can't see God but he's there

I could be totally off base but that's what I got from it.

General CommentI reckon it's about better-off-than-thou members of society (blue blood) giving money to charity ("you gave all of your savings to the poor"), maybe not necessarily out of the kindness of their heart, but rather the fear of God. Back in ye olde times the church was pretty much all like "give us yo' money and God won't fuck yo' shit up, bitch". They're a bit more subtle about it these days though..

Flashflood, lightning, earthquakes...I think they're all God's wrath references..

The line "oh my, thank you for keeping me safe", that's the relief they feel in that now that they've donated, God will keep them safe from harm, "even though you know it don't always go that way"

    Yeah? Neah?

General CommentFirst off, there are many errors in these lyrics as they are posted here. The CWK put too much meaning into there lyrics to have them butchered. The actual lyrics are as followed.
