"Fish Out of Water" as written by Chad L. Gray, Ryan Martinie, Matthew Mcdonough and Greg Tribbett....
Lie!
I'm a fish out of water
(I'm a fish out of water)
Kill me and choke on the bones
(Kill me and choke on the bones)
Nothing seems to matter anymore
Gotta get back to the reason
Gotta get back to the hole

Someone throw me an anchor
I've gotta drown this disease
(I've gotta drown this disease)
No one seems to matter anymore
Gotta get back to the meaning
Gotta get back the score

Buy my soul so you can sell me!
I don't need this
I don't need you

Trust your lies!
Then you betray me!
I don't want this
I don't want you

Up the creek with no paddle
(Up the creek with no paddle)
Through the oars of a board
No one seems to care at all anymore
Gotta get back to the evening
Gotta make back something more

Let me tell you a secret
(Let me tell you a secret)
So you can tattle or leave
(So you can tattle or leave)
No one holds to their honesty anymore
Gotta get back to the stealing
Gotta get back from the whore

Buy my soul so you can sell me!
I don't need this
I don't need you
Trust your lies!
Then you betray me!
I don't want this
I don't want!
You

I don't want you
Who do you wanna be?
The summit of integrity
Or the bottom, the filth
The dichotomy

All these falling angels
Skeletons of what they once were
Hanging in the closet for the world to see
And now they're fallen angels
Faced by demons on their judgment
Hanging from the gallows
For us all to see!!!

Nobody told me!
Nobody forewarned!
Nobody told me!
Nobody forewarned!

Buy!
(Buy!)
My soul!
(My soul!)
So you can sell me!

I don't need this
I don't need you
Trust!
(Trust!)
Your lies!
(Your lies!)
Then you betray me!
I don't want this!
I don't want you!

General CommentSeems to be a song refering to someone trying to come back from insanity in a way..maybe dealing with someone who he trusted, and basically they let him down and it threw him into a depression/insane state and hes trying to come out of it.

General CommentThere's an incorrect segment of lyrics here...This:

    Who do you wanna be?
    The summit of integrity
On the bottom of the filth
    The dark hollow me

    Should be this:

    Who do you wanna be?
    The summit of integrity
    Or the bottom, the filth
    The dichotomy

General CommentAnother incorrect lyric from above:

"Up the creek with no paddle
(Up the creek with no paddle)
Through the oars of a board
(Through the oars of a board)
No one seems to care at all anymore
Gotta get back to the meaning
Gonna break backs of the poor"

    <-Should be->

"Up the creek with no paddle
(Up the creek with no paddle)
    Throw the oars overboard
    (Throw the oars overboard)
No one seems to care at all anymore
Gotta get back to the meaning
Gonna break backs of the poor"

General CommentI think this song is about the music industry and how it changes artists. I'll try to pull out a few backing lines:

"I'm a fish out of water" suggests that he won't allow the process getting signed and produced change him - like it changed everyone else.

"Kill me and choke on the bones" makes sense because he's gained so much popularity already. If his label didn't like what he was doing they'd end up screwing themselves if they tried to get rid of him.

The next few parts "nothing matters, throw me an anchor, gotta drown this disease" show his hoplessness because of how everyone else allows themselves to be moldecd into what their labels want just to get the fame. "Gotta get back to the reason... etc" suggests that he'd like to see labels take a step out of the equation.

"buy my soul so you can sell me" this is the line that made me think of this interpretation... The label buys him with a contract so they can shape and sell him.

"All these fallen angels" - refers to all of the other artists in the industry that sold themselves that stopped making music the way they wanted and enjoyed most in exchange for the fame. All those fallen angels hanging up there for us to see.

I could spend a bit more time trying to tie every line of this song into this meaning - but I'm not going to because this isn't what I hear when I'm listening to the song. I hear anguish over following a lead that you don't agree with - anger over having listened to a teacher who's teaching you just to help themselves. I hear reason to follow myself and drop those assumptions that the attraction of fame and popularity build into you.

General CommentI see more religious meaning it with the biblical allusions and the reference to buying one's soul. I saw it as a denouement of competing religions.

Song MeaningI think its about two things.

    1. He's a "Fish Out of Water" meaning he is so out of place. Singled out, strange, freak whatever I know that feeling so well.
    2. He's sick of someone who he trusted (maybe a good friend or his one of his parents, I don't think its about a girl) That they told lies that he bought for so long and when he realizes those are all lies he is pissed and lost , confused not sure what to think about the world. He believes everyone always lies always has always will. So being so lost he feels misplaced a "Fish Out of Water"

Song MeaningThough I am not sure about the whole fallen angel thing maybe (i'm just going to throw this out there i could be so far off) but maybe he thinks everyone will burn in hell for their lies or they should anyway.

General CommentI think the song is about a fish that jumped out of the water and some1 tried to eat it and choked on the bones and then it died so they bought its soul
