I can taste the blood on your lips and on your tongue
I can see your teeth turn pink, your gums fade to white

The less and less I eat the more you see my teeth;
The closer they move together, fill the gaps.
We curse the weather.
Rip the flesh from your bones,
Wipe me down,
Drive me home
Dump me side of the road if I'm too annoying

Wear your best suit, all these people are watching
Oh baby, you'll need all those fingers for crossing
I'm sucking your last words from the back of your throat -
So perfect, so bitter, we laugh then we choke

(Keep)
Wear your best suit, all these people are watching
(Your fingers)
Oh baby, you'll need all those fingers for crossing
(Crossed)
I'm sucking your last words from the back of your throat -
So perfect, so bitter, we laugh then we choke

You worry a million raindrops'll die with their last memory of you and I
In a soft porn version of the end of the world
I quake at the knees as my intentions unfurl
You wrote a letter to God ("just in case") you said,
"I'm nothing if I'm not a pragmatist".
"You needn't worry about us, we can look after ourselves,
We have learnt not to rely on you or anyone else".

(Crossed)
I'm sucking your last words from the back of your throat -
So perfect, so bitter, we laugh then we... choke

General CommentFrom Gareth: "The song is about a couple of star-crossed Atheist lovers, together in sickness, sacrificing themselves to whatever. One of the characters being a version of myself (seemingly Good) and the other character being somebody I was involved with who I viewed as The Bad."

General CommentMy brother suggested that this song is about somebody with a eating disorder, most likely bulimia.
    Sounds right to me...

General CommentIt's pretty obviously about two lovers in a suicide pact.

General CommentI also think it's about someone with bulimia,
"I can taste the blood on your lips and on your tongue" - He's kissed someone who has just made herself throw up which resulted in her throat bleeding
"The less and less I eat the more you see my teeth" - The more weight he loses the happier he is, so he's smiling more
"Rip the flesh from your bones" - Again, wanting to lose weight
"you'll need all those fingers for crossing" - Rather than using them to be sick

Could be wrong though, but i do adore this song :)

General Comment for some reason (and I suppose you can call this a response to the recent vampire fever) it makes me think of vampires or vampire lovers whatever. -sucking the last words from the back of your throat(vampires suck the life out of people)
-fill the gaps curse the weather (because vampires don't like sunshine)
or maybe it's werewolves or something but that's the imagery i get when I listen to this song.

My InterpretationThis could be completely wrong, but many people are saying that in "miserabilia", there is a reference that gareth may have given a boy a blow job "next to urinals in garish mexican resturaunts". I was just thinking that the line "So perfect, So bitter, We laugh, then we choke" could be carrying on from that theme. I have no idea but i'd like to hear people's opinions
