"I Don't Care" as written by Peter Wentz, Patrick Stump, Joseph Trohman, Andrew Hurley and Norman Greenbaum....
Say my name, and his in the same breath,
I dare you to say they taste the same,
Let the leaves fall off in the summer
And let December glow in flames

Erase myself and let go,
Start it over again in Mexico
These friends, they don't love you
They just love the hotel suites, now

I don't care what you think,
As long as it's about me
The best of us can find happiness, in misery
I don't care what you think,
As long as it's about me
The best of us can find happiness, in misery

Oh, take a chance, let your body get a tolerance,
I'm not a chance, but a heat wave in your pants
Pull a breath like another cigarette,
Pawn shop heart trading up, said no

I'm the oracle in my chest,
Let the guitar scream like a fascist,
Sweat it out, shut your mouth,
Free love on the streets, but
In the alley it ain't that cheap now

I don't care what you think,
As long as it's about me
The best of us can find happiness, in misery
I don't care what you think,
As long as it's about me
The best of us can find happiness, in misery

Said-a, I don't care just a-what you think,
As long as it's about me, you said-a
I don't care just what you think,
As long as it's about me, you said-a
I don't care (I don't care)
You said I don't care (I don't care)
Said I don't care, I don't care
I don't care (I don't care), I said-a, I don't care

I don't care what you think,
As long as it's about me
The best of us can find happiness, in misery
I don't care what you think,
As long as it's about me
The best of us can find happiness, in misery

General Commentalso, in an article today on mtv.com patrick said...

"Like the chorus says, 'I don't care what you think as long as it's about me.' It's that pop culture thing again, where people don't care about anything but the superficial, and I think there's something so tragic about that," he laughed. "I also thought there was something so ironically anthemic about the chorus, where it's not something you want to sing along to, because it's vacuous and empty. So I wanted something really anthemic underneath it, like something you'd hear at sports games or whatever, because I wanted people to hear it and be confronted with how empty that is. I didn't want anything to be superficial on this record unless the point was to point out superficiality."

General CommentAre you capable of reading and understanding English? Haha.

"I don't care what you think unless it is about me."
"I don't care what you think as long as it's about me."

If you are unable to appreciate that those two sentences mean the EXACT OPPOSITE to each other, you must attend some sort of special school - end of.

General CommentI love this song. I heard about it around a week ago and I've been listening to it non-stop ever since.

Patrick's voice sounds really good in this.
And the beat is sorta different, not like most FOB songs.
Well, it doesn't sound like most to me.

I really love the "say my name and his in the same breath
I dare you to say they taste the same."

Overall, I'm excited for the new album.
I really like their old stuff, but it's the same with PATD.
Their first album is a complete 360 from their second.
    They're both really good.

I'm still in love with FOB. :)

General CommentWhy is it such a problem that Fall Out Boy almost used a line from a Nirvana song?
    Blink 182's done it.
You could at least be thorough, Fall Out Boy 'steal' lines from movies too.

In my opinion, Fall Out Boy are getting better with age.

General Commentuh, may I add that the music video sucks. It's funny-ish, but seriously. And they screwed up (in the video) during the part when Pete Wentz leans into the mic and says "feel flames". He looks really f*cked up in that shot. Anyway, this song is a total reep off(rip off). Seriously. THey just copied. I hate this song. God, Son of Man by Phil Collins off of Tarzan is better. Jesus. I liked them better in their Dance, Dance and This Ain't A Scene, It's Arms Race days. Those were more... them? Like, more unique and different. Whatever. You know the beggining of the music video where there are two eighties rockers laughing and dissing Fall OUt Boy? Yeah, I agree with the drunk eighties rockers. What happened to rock and roll?

General CommentThis song was written with Norman Greenbaum .... remember spirit in the sky ...
so theres a tip to that with the guitar intro .
I love this song because it basically says ' all publicity is good publicity '. I take the point from other reviewers that's its about the vacuous nature of today .
But when some one at work was p****ng me off with a bad attitude I quoted this to them and the effect was brilliant it basically it said ' it doesn't matter what you think my ego loves it ' carry on !

General CommentWhat happened to fall out boy?! They used to be so good, the beginning of this song is like a poppy rip off of a marilyn manson, can't remember which song tho

I don't care what you think
As long as it's about me
The best of us can find happiness
    In misery

Maybe the happiness they're finding is from the money their making, the misery that of their fans who liked their early stuff
