"Valium Skies" as written by and Richard Ashcroft....
Can you keep yourself on for good
Seems like the whole world is losing
How do you stop yourself up
Even if seems like the whole world is crying

Aaaah oooh
Aaaah oooh
She got all I need
The air I breath
When it comes to my valium skies
She don't mind if I cry

How do you stop your love from crying
Even if you knew she was lying
How do you stop this world from loathing
Still no knocking with all these cards I'm holding

Aaaah oooh
Aaaah oooh
She got all I need
The air I breath
When it comes to my valium skies
She don't mind if I cry

She don't mind if I cry
She don't mind if I cry

Aaaah oooh
Aaaah oooh
She got all I need
The air I breath
When it comes to my valium skies
She don't mind if I cry

When it comes to my valium skies
She don't mind if I cry

General CommentOK, lets get these lyrics right eh...?

How do you keep yourself from falling?
Seems like the whole world is, losing
How do you stop yourself from giving in?
Seems like the whole world is, crying...

    She got all I need
    Yeah, the air I breath,
When it comes to my valium skies
She don't mind if I cry

How do you stop your lover from crying?
Even though you knew she knew you was lying
How do you stop this world from loathing?
Still know nothing with all these cards Im holding

(and everything above is right after that point :)

Not Ashcrofts best effort, lyrically, but wow, what a song!Highlight of the album??

General CommentYour lyrics were off slightly as well, but not as much as mine were. All adjusted now. Thanks!

General CommentAccording to songfacts.com: [In an interview with BBC DJ Steve Lamacq, frontman Richard Ashcroft explained this song: "The term Valium Skies has been in my mind for ten, fifteen years. You get them all over the country but back home, up North, sometimes that grey, grey, grey cloud seems so low you can almost touch it and, but it was also a metaphor for depression and it's about being with someone who recognizes almost where you can go, how dark you can go but still is with you. He's in a band and he knew every time when you're breaking down, you know. 'When it comes to my Valium skies, she don't mind if I cry,' and I think that's a test of any relationship, I think, and really I was trying to get that across, I think. It's one of them songs that you first hear and then after a couple of listens it, the chorus had me for about a month after we recorded that. I was just, I couldn't get it out of my mind and it, yet it doesn't seem like an obvious single song or anything and again good playing by everyone, great guitars and good work."]

    I, boboon,
    1) love the delivery of "'Still know nothing with all these cards I'm holding."
    2) still wonder what exactly a Valium sky is. The music is so buoyant and pretty, but a Valium sky could really be anything...
