Early in the day
It's when I miss you most
When you're away, it's that
I'm gone with things to do
It's just the amount of time
I think about you

What's the use in pretending that you're
better off this way
If I don't love you better than I
don't know what else to say

It's not a fact our lives are action packed
(sit back and swing low)
sometimes I don't have much to say
(go back, sit back)
??????????
(take your time)
The last goodnight you say
(you're my valentine)
What's the use in pretending that you're
Better off this way
(people are...)
If I don't love you better
Don't know what to say

It's a really long time
Until it takes
It's a really long road
If I don't love you better

General CommentThis song has a very bittersweet feel to the music and as usual, the lyrics are presented in a fashion typical of Wheat. It is absolutely amazing.

I believe the words speak to a girl who has either left the author or is stuck in a relationship she no longer values. However, the singer still loves her but doesn't know if that is enough anymore.

The final lyrics, "It's a really long road / If I don't love you better," say it all: if she no longer loves him, it's going to be a very long road to recovery. : )
