Follow my love, from coast to coast
Chase bad demons, chase some ghosts
And when I wound up face in the sea
Heard the waves crashing, laughing at me
I waded into that icy black
I saw there was no, no coming back

No deliverance (x4)

Dunk my head under, started to drift
Let the tide take me and down I went
I saw great wonders, saw it from above
I saw black monster twisted in love

No deliverance (x4)

And then I saw her, bathed in light
A host of angels, no doubt a sight, she said
You have forsaken all you believe
Crossed earth and oceans to be with me
And I’ll be your lover, I’ll be your rack
And now you’re never coming back

No deliverance (x9)

General CommentThis is easy - drowning. Sad about a failed love affair and off he goes "waded into that icy black" and "Let the tide take me." Then he sees "a host of angels" so he's dead or dying.

I think the line "I'll be your lover, I'll be your rack" is really, "I'll be your lover, I'll be your ride." THat's what I hear. And I love that line. If you have transportation problems - having a ride is really so important! Ha ha. Anyway - the angel is going to take him so she'll be his "ride". Although 'rack' does rhyme with "back"

This is an awesome song! One of the best by this band.
