i've got my back
against the window
trying to take the good out
of every bad move
and all the shit
that we've been through
cause the past days
we've had nothing but trouble

and i don't think i'll ever
be able to believe that
i'll make it back to you

we're going east going slow
and it feels like i've been
in the middle of
the curve forever
cause i can't tell what's
coming ever

but i made peace with my past
now i'm hoping it will last
all summer
but it can be hard sometimes

hear me i've got hope again
hope of better days
days with you my friends
for the first time of the year
i wish for everything my dear
though i know
that feeling might go away
cause even in the best of days

my feet are sometimes missing the beat
we're going west and hope for the best
but it seems that we'll never ever
gonna beat the weather
will it ever feel like summer?
let's make peace with our past
and really hope that it can last forever
but it can be hard sometimes

now the roads are taking me closer
where the words are taking over

we're giving each other
what we're truly willing to offer
and if time is all we have
then time is all that's left
to always remember
that there will be no retreat and no surrender

My InterpretationI absolutely love this song. I think it is about a girl who keeps having bad relationships with guys...until she finally meets the right one. Later she finds out that having a relationship isn't as easy as she thought it was going to be and wishes it was as romantic/exciting as it was in the beginning. Then she realizes that you can't change a person and you just have to accept them for who they are and do what it takes to make the relationship work. Just my opinion.

General CommentTitle and last line makes me think about Scotland's King Robert the Bruce. A bit of a stretch though
