"Wasteland" as written by Wayne Hussey, Simon Thomas Hinkler, Mick Brown and Craig David Adams....
Because you don't ever ask me why,
You don't read the signs,
And give me way too many reasons,
For me to want to get by.

Standing tall between my four walls,
I've never felt before,
So look into my eyes tonight,
Say it all.

I am lost,
I am lost,
So crucify me on your cross.

Whats the cost,
Whats the cost,
To erase what I've been taught.

Get off my back,
Don't attack,
So what if I fell off the tracks.

Your master plan,
Don't understand,
I'd rather live on your wasteland.

I'm already gone,
I'm already gone,
My own wasteland.

I don't belong,
I don't belong,
My own wasteland.

Scream at me until I shut down,
Don't hear a sound,
Can only take so many cheap shots,
Down on the ground.

I've got to go my own way this time,
Leave you behind,
Said it all but not enough for your,
Simple mind.

I am lost,
I am lost,
So crucify me on your cross.

Whats the cost,
Whats the cost,
To erase what I've been taught.

Get off my back,
Don't attack,
So what if I fell off the tracks.

Your master plan,
Don't understand,
I'd rather live on your wasteland.

I'm already gone,
I'm already gone,
My own wasteland.

I don't belong,
I don't belong,
My own wasteland.

You tell me what you want from me,
You never ask me what I need,
Just let me go,
Just set me free,
And turn these nightmares into dreams.

I am lost,
I am lost,
So crucify me on your cross.

Whats the cost,
Whats the cost,
To erase what I've been taught.

Get off my back,
Don't attack,
So what if I fell off the tracks.

Your master plan,
Don't understand,
I'd rather live on your wasteland.

Another waste,
Another day,
It doesn't matter what we say,
(My own wasteland),
You'll never change,
[unknown].

I'd rather live on your wasteland,
I'm already gone,
I'm already gone,
My own wasteland.

I don't belong,
I don't belong,
My own wasteland.

I'm already gone,
I'm already gone,
My own wasteland.

I don't belong,
I don't belong,
My own wasteland.

My OpinionThis song reminds me so much of the relationship between my mother and I.. it's pretty much spot on.

(I think) it is about someone who expects too much of you.. after a while you wear down, tear away from it. They still nag at you about it, but you just don't give a s***. You just let their words wash over you and you keep living the way you are.
It sounds like he has some self destructive habits as well. I'm the same way, if I'm upset, I self destruct somehow. Drink too much, smoke too much..

    Love this band.

General CommentCan't believe no one has commented on this song :O. This is a great, catchy start to their new album. I love the arrogance e.g "You give me way to many reasons for me to wanna get high" and "I've said it all but not enough for your simple mind". The meaning is simple. It's like disconnected (too out of touch). He's in a bad relationship and has had enough, he'd rather live in the personal hell he himself has created then spend more time with her.

    General Commentwhat a powerful song.
but ill expand on what Yallabro said -
i think its about breaking away from a group, or way of thinking, or what others think.
    he says:
"i am lost, i am lost.... whats the cost to erase what ive been taught"
"id rather live in my own wasteland"
    "set me free"
"get off my back, dont attack, so what if i fell off the track?"

that last one i think sends the message home.
hes almost saying.. like.. so what? so what if i dont want to be here. get off my back.

General CommentThis song reminds me of my life. I've been a loner for much of my 22 years of life, only have had a few friends, but still then, I don't consider them true friends. I've never had love. I've had a lot of people think I'm weird or strange, but I play the game and fit in when I need to in order to survive in society. But...deep down, I'd rather live in my own wasteland...just like the song says.
