Yeah
I'm on the block wondering do I ever cross your mind,
'Cause at times things change and they can't be rewound,
But if I could, I probably would, try to live it again,
Back to those first days when you were more than a friend,
Yeah, I think about it and I can't even lie,
You broke my heart and I can't even cry,
Why, 'cause I don't know how you got me this way,
But I finally have the courage to say,
I miss you...
Did you know I thought the world of you huh,
My homies telling me I'm soft but I love you so rough,
And I guess you never understood the things that I do,
But a chin's got to eat on the streets for me and you,
I know it's tough 'cause I was lost in the game,
And so everybody talks and you surrounded by fame,
But when it came down to us you were first, better or worse,
Now we're nothing but a memory, it's real love hurts.

When you love somebody, that hurts your body,
And you have to watch and let them love then walk away,
All the pain will make you feel like you'll never be the same,
But I guess I've come to realize that sometimes love hurts

I got to wonder what you're dealing with now,
Yeah, it's been a while I'm still missing your smile,
'Cause when days got grey you were there for me to hold,
Made a chin feel warm inside when it was cold,
But I gave you my heart and you tore it apart,
Now we're back to the beginning, no Lois and Clark,
And I ain't mad sweet miss, I still wish that you blessed,
Just remember, don't forget, together we was the best ha,
I can't believe how the things done change huh,
From a friend to a lover to a stranger,
And you don't know how the hell I feel girl,
But that's the way love goes, that's for real huh,
I thought a lot of things through,
But in the end you can't depend on nobody but you, true,
Star-crossed we eventually lost,
There's no ice box here, it's potentially frost

When you love somebody, that hurts your body,
And you have to watch and let them love then walk away,
All the pain will make you feel like you'll never be the same,
But I guess I've come to realize that sometimes love hurts

When you love somebody, that hurts your body,
And you have to watch and let them love then walk away,
All the pain will make you feel like you'll never be the same,
But I guess I've come to realize that sometimes love hurts

I think the song is about when you're in a relationship with someone you truly care about you still think about them when you aren't together any more. You wonder if they feel the same way about you. There may have been something that happened but you still tried your hardest and if you could you wouldn't change anything that happened. No regrets. You remember what things the person used to do for you and when it's gone you miss it. You have to let them move on and you let them because you care about them. Love hurts.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
