Do you remember when we fell in love
three times a day we couldn't get enough
we spent the weekends with nobody else
I just had to have you for myself
I used to love the way you called my name
thought that it would always be this way
you held me like you'd never let me go
I wanna know
I wanna know

do you still want me like that?
do you still want me like that?

its like

if you can cast your mind to way back when
I'd count the days till id see you again
when we spent every second of our time
lost in the moment where the stars align
so crazy bout each other we were blind
so into you that I could read your mind
you swore to me you'd never let it die

I wanna know
I wanna know

do you still want me like that?
do you still want me like that?
cos its like you had a change of heart
at times like these I wonder
do you still want me like that

the simple things
the secret thing
between me and you
in our own little world
and what we had
where we were
it was all so unbreakable

do you still want me like that ?

(repeat chorus)

His voice sounds like him but doesn't at the same time. I love this song and as ckirn1016 said, "I can't live without this song."

For anyone who doesn't know, James is now in a band called Call Me When I'm 18. He's still continuing with his solo project but I urge all James Bourne fans to check his new band out.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
