Homecoming, I'm coming, my sweet mistake
Summer's over, hope it's not too late
I'm pacing, impatient, up in my head
Taken back to the sidewalk where we met
And carved out our names
Do you remember that?

I'm coming home, I'm coming home
Did you take off while I was gone?
I missed it all, I messed you up, I missed you
I'm coming home, I wanna know
When all the leaves begin to fall
If I'm falling, falling apart for you

Descending, I'm spinning, lost all defense
How could you swallow me again?
I left you, I meant to, couldn't let you in
Never mind a single word I said
Carve out your name
Do you remember that?

I'm coming home, I'm coming home
Did you take off while I was gone?
I missed it all, I messed you up, I missed you
I'm coming home, I wanna know
When all the leaves begin to fall
If I'm falling, falling apart

You've got control of me, is this the end of me?
'Cause I just can't cut up the strings
I'm coming back for more, don't let your heart go
Please don't walk away

Homecoming, I'm coming
I'm coming back

I'm coming home, I'm coming home
Did you take off while I was gone?
I missed it all, I messed you up, I missed you
I'm coming home, I wanna know
When all the leaves begin to fall
If I'm falling, falling apart

I'm coming home, I'm coming home
Did you take off while I was gone?
(Homecoming, I'm coming, my sweet mistake)
I missed it all, I messed you up, I missed you
(Summer's over, hope it's not too late)

I'm coming home, I wanna know
When all the leaves begin to fall
(Homecoming, I'm coming, my sweet mistake)
If I'm falling, falling apart for you

I think it's sort of closed-minded being when you bash on Hey Monday, comparing them to Paramore. They are both excellent bands and they have their differences. I think having a female fronted singer catches your attentions into believing that they are "wannabes". Think about it.. if they had a male fronted singer, you'd be comparing them to ATL or The Maine, etc. I can think of many popular bands that sound alike, hell.. I can even make a list of bands that sound alike if I wanted to. I'm sure it wasn't their intentions on trying to be like Paramore. They're probably trying to create their own style and bashing on them won't help. So don't hate them because you think that they're trying to steal Paramore's spot. :)

I heard this on the CitizensFOB mixtape and loved it. I fell in love with the lead singer's voice and this is catchy as hell. They do sound a little like Paramore but although I hate to say it her voice reminds me somewhat of maybe a Disney star? :-S I hate to say, I really do. I love their sound, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. That's just my first impressions. I'll keep my eye on these guys, they seem pretty darn awesome. XD

self explanitory. The new Paramore? It's kind of hard to be the new paramore when you sound nothing like them. She sounds more like Automatic Loveletter. I love how you guys are trying to say Paramore is over and they're replacing them. Try again. This has nothing like a disney sound either. Only the "i've been a fan of paramore since 2007, their first album!" Fake fans would think that this band is the new paramore. Of course, you would know paramore has 2 albums since 2005. And this band won't be taking over, so all those fake people can say shit and over play there songs so the true fans get sick of it.

I don't really see that much of how they are alike at all. I mean paramore has more of a hmm how would I say it, like alternative punkish sound but still pop at the same time. While hey monday is really pop. They're music sounds NOTHING alike. But I can see how people can think Hayley and Cassadee are a little the same, but not really in my eyes, I mean a lot of girls out in America have shoulder length hair that has blond underneath, doesn't make her a copy cat. I personally like hey monday much more than paramore, just for the simple fact that paramore is overplayed and I've gotten kind of sick of them (hate to say it). But nothing can take down paramore. And I totally agree with the xAlternativex person, I like loled when I read that, because me and my friend Emily were talking about that a while ago. I first heard about them in 2006 though, after 'All We Know Is Falling' came out obviously, when they were writing 'Riot!'. Still it's much longer since the radio knew about them. Lol

Cassadee sounds like a 12 year old, Disney star version of Hayley Williams. It's something for the tweens, where Paramore is more like the smarter, older generation. You see where they're inspired though, but Paramore's (as much as I love them) sound isn't all that unique. The lead singer from Versa Emerge sounds like Hayley Williams fronting Circa Survive, which is okay, but Hey Monday just irritates me.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
