Enlightening charmer, sent from where
A Casanova, lovely glare
And I was chosen, I was there
The wells get deeper, more unfolds
And at the bottom, there she goes
But wells are endless, I've found more

Flowers candy flirty late nights
On the speed dial, that was you too
Dinner movie sweet heart kisses
He don't dance, but tangles with two
I thought you plus me divided me from him
But I discovered, many more and again again

And you don't know, you fill many spaces
And she don't know, she's one of many lies
And he don't know, how he stole many places
And we all know, we can't fix him if we tried
I would've been the one

I held the title, wore the crown
I was the trophy, while you ducked down
And she was cool with just fooling around
(Yes she was, yes she was, yes she was)
Now number four was there to ride
And five was crazy, his wild child
And when we're rocky he calls number nine

Flowers candy flirty late nights
On the speed dial, that was you too
Dinner movie sweet heart kisses
He don't dance, but tangles with two
I thought you plus me divided me from him
But I discovered, many more and more and again

And you don't know, you fill many spaces
And she don't know, she's one of many lies
And he don't know, how he steals many places
And we all know, we can't fix him if we tried
I would've been the one

I was the one, yes I was the one
And yes that was my name
Inked up on his arm
And if he loved me that much
And still did me wrong

You feeling sorry, but you are holding on

I was the one, yes I was the one
Key word is was, yes I was the one
I figured out he was empty on my own

He had to find the answer
In something or someone

And you don't know, you fill many spaces
And she don't know, she's one of many lies
And he don't know, he stole many places
And we all know, we can't fix him if we tried
I would've been the one

Do do do doo do do
I would've been the one

this song is absolutely amazing. I don't normally get blown away by the lyrics of a song, but she has done it here. I love the play on the numbers with the "one" from the title. Basically, she's the main chick of some guy and she's singing about his escapades with numerous girls. One of the best on this album!

Love this song! I believe this may be my favorite from this album, this one and TONY. I hate when people compare her and Beyonce just because they are sisters, they have two totally different types of music styles! I think its about how she was the main chick for some guy and wouldve been the one (his wife) if it wasnt for all his infidelities. I love the line "I was the one, yes, I was the one. Key word is was!"

To me the song means that she's with this guy who is not being faithful. The guy is cheating on her with all these different girls and she feels like all these girls that he's messing with doesnt know that if they werent in the picture she would be the one and she use to be before he started cheating. I love the part where she's like, "I was the one YES I was the ONE and YES that was my name inked up on his arm and if he loved me that much and still did me wrong. You feelin sorry but you're still holding on..." I know how she's feeling because I went through that with my ex. I think by that she meant he loved me so much he got my name tattooed on his arm but he's cheating on me and you feel sorry for me but he's just gonna do the same thing to you. I LOVE SOLANGE for this song! Well, I've always loved her and her music but this song right here just did it for me because I just went through this with my ex. But her whole album is the ish! Im loving the old skool vibe its got and her videos too. GO COP IT!

After this Solange's album, Beyoncé is kinda musically dead to me. Solange is one hell of a songwriter, she's an artist. Beyoncé is just a pop singer.

I hope Solange keep on the control of her music, so the next album can come even better than this one.

I LOVE YOU SOL-ANGEL!!! Come to Brazil, please!!!

he was making her think that they were exclusive and so in love and everything publicly knew that they were together and they truly were functional and peachy but he had to go and cheat with other woman not realizing that he didn't need anything else but kept it hidden and he relied on the emotional things with her and when he needed a distraction instead of fixing it with her he would wander...

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
