"Emergency Broadcast :: The End Is Near" as written by and Timothy/gillespie Mctague....
At the end of it all
We will be sold for parts
We will try to rebuild
But we ate it all away
All ambitions now run dry
Someone stop this thing, turn it off
In search of new life
Nothing will be left to walk this earth again
Turn it off

Our hopes and dreams
Will be swallowed
We always said it wouldn't end up like this
We will be the new ice age
We will be the new plague
Disguised as a colony
We will wipe them all away
Feast your eyes
Or just rip 'em out
This is it for us
It's time to panic
We always said it wouldn't end
It wouldn't end up like this
We are the cancer
We are the virus
Tell me it's not too late

    General Commentomfg.
second best song on the album.
maybe it has a bit to do with; the end of the world? as said so in the bible, or maybe global warming. and how its gonna kill us all.
thats what i get form it.
how, we need to swallow our pride and realize that the end IS near, and if we dont do something about it, it might be too late later on.
for us to stop procastinating. becauswe we're doing this to ourselves. its our own fault.

General Commenti think it could also have something to do with the last track. with both titles like almost bouncing off each other. its like we're at the end, and we need to face up and do something. yet even in the midst of our desolation and despair...there is hope.

General CommentThis song speaks about us, the humans.
"We always said it wouldn’t end
It wouldn’t end up like this
    We are the cancer
    We are the virus
Tell me it’s not too late"

Look at We are the cancer. We are the virus.
WE (Humans) are the cancer, the virus of this earth. We act exactly likea virus. We strip resources off what we need, discard it, and move on. Like cancer does to cells.

Basically, we humans are the virus of this earth.

General CommentThis song is about the end of this planet. Most of the People of Earth have no idea what is coming to them. In the song, he talks about how all of these earthly possesions aren't going to be worth anything in the end. The people don't understand..."Someone stop this thing, turn it off". They want it to stop. They thought it was fiction. They thought it wasn't possible. But it won't be turned off. "Our hopes and dreams will be swallowed alive"... all of these pointless, worthless dreams will be shattered. Everything the average American works for and trys to achieve through his entire life will be absolutely meaningless. "WE ALWAYS SAID IT WOULDN'T END UP LIKE THIS". This can't be happening! We are supposed to rot in the ground! What is this?!?! This is immposible! People will be dumbfounded. Science tells us that it won't end up like this. We live our lives, then we die and rot. No. It also talks about us being cancer and a virus. Yes we are and continue to be every day. We wrap ourselves up in sin. It's EVERYWHERE. Every time we turn on the TV. We are the reason for this end. We go through all of this pain because we choose to sin. There will be a new heaven and Earth because this one is so sinful. This Earth will be destroyed because it is evil. And whos fault is it? Ours. "We always said it wouldn't end up like this."
