I'd love to hug you back, she's thinking
His arms wrapped around her
Hers in her pockets by her side
And have we had enough to drink yet
To excuse ourselves?
Beginnings dressed as endings tonight

And we're not quite "just friends"
And we're just not quite lovers
We're so romantic, the way we come apart
And we're not quite "just friends"
And we're just not quite lovers
We're so romantic, the way we fail

Go quickly through the night in taxis
Testing our intentions through
Touches, little touches, so light
We're carefully here
We're so quietly near
T-t-t-touches, little touches, so slight

And we're not quite "just friends"
And we're just not quite lovers
We're so romantic, the way we come apart
And we're not quite "just friends"
And we're just not quite lovers
We're so romantic, the way we fail
The way we fail.

    My InterpretationI love this song
it's so soft and really has lots of emotion in it.

I see it being about 2 really close friends (a boy and a girl) who are so close and then begin to have feelings worth more than friendship about each other. These feelings then make them question what to do as their friendship is so important to them, but then they feel it could be more. They are stuck in between friendship and love..
