"Loralai" as written by and Matthew Patrick Pryor....
Loralai, I did not cry.
On the day we said goodbye,
the whole world did stop spinning for an hour.

I don't want you to know,
that I don't want you to go,
because you've got my only set of keys.

Love is strange.
We're estranged.
In fact I think it's been over a year.
Oh, what's there to do?
Have to find a lover new.
She just can't hold a candle to Loralai.

Loralai, I've got the time.
There are papers here to sign.
And notary to mark the document.

I've been lying and you've strayed.
It's a painful game we've played.
It only got more painful when we split.

We were square without a care.
Then you had to go and steal my car.

Oh, where's there to go?
Circumnavigate the globe.
I'll never find another Loralai.
Never find another Loralai.

General CommentOn daytrotter sessions Matt Pryor said of this song, "Apparently this isn't how you spell this name. Most people spell it Laura Lei. My kids and I would incorrectly sing the lyrics to Old Crow Medicine Show's "New Virginia Creeper" which states "Down among the Mountain Laurel, I'm a gonna meetcha". We would sing "Down among the Mountain Loralai I'm gonna meetcha." My wife was pregnant with our third child and we thought if it was a girl we'd use the name. But, his name is Jerzy. I really like the opening lyric, everything just fell in place after that."
