I
Am the one you will call the destroyer
The messenger of my disgrace
I am my own disease
You
Sit on your throne of compassion
The charges will fall as we all
Go marching so helplessly on

We came this far
To tear the curtain
Shed light so i can
See your eyes
Shed your light on me

What
Is this unhealthy obsession
Destroy everything you create
I am my own disease
You
God of the broken and wretched
The charges will fall
I am my own disease

I carry the weight of this burden
And watched as they all fell away
Its not just a dream its a nightmare
I carry the weight of this burden
And watched as they all fell away
Its not just a dream its a nightmare

We came this far
To tear the curtain
Shed light so i can
See your eyes
Shed your light on me

We came this far
To tear the curtain
Shed light so i can
See your eyes
Shed your light on me

We will fall to ruin
If we don't bury disguises that we made
We will see the finish
If we will carry ourselves to the end of the race
The charges will fall
I am my own disease
I am my own disease

General CommentMy guess at the meaning is that the song is probally about prevailing you know fighting through the battles of life maybe even some thoughts on the afterlife being judged on what we have done can't wait for the album to come out

General CommentWhen i first heard this new haste the day song, it made me think of some references in the book of Revelations. for instince, the 'destroyer' is mentioned in the book a lot and is refered to apollyon, or the angel of the abyss. the song also mentions jugdes, which appear frequently throughout the book as well. Again, there are other references as well, such as curtains, thrones, and others. Very good song.

Song MeaningI think the song is about how people only have themselves to blame for their sins. "I am my own disease" is a perfect example of that. The song also explains how we should be true to God and carry out his will to the end (We will fall to ruin - end of the race). They beg for God's light to be shed on them.
But the main theme I think is how the only person the singer is blaming is himself: "I am my own disease", "Messenger of my disgrace", and "[Obsession to] Destroy everything [God] creates". These are things we all struggle with. I know I struggle with controlling my urge to sin.

    General CommentRevelations 6:8:

I looked, and there before me was a pale horse, Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
