Stalling leads to static
Static tends to stall
In plastic pre flight seats and oh
If only I could beat the buzz
That I have worked to overcome
This terminal's not right
I thought it was going to be white

Plastic pre flight seats and oh
So jump out, jump in
Jump out of your skin
If only I could beat the buzz
That I have worked to overcome
So jump out, jump in
Jump out of your skin.

If only I could beat the buzz
That I have worked to overcome
So jump out, jump in
Jump out of your skin.

Starting leads to worry
Worry tends to start
In plastic pre flight seats and oh
If only I could beat the buzz
To stop my hands to shake
I could be your rock
This terminal's not right
I thought it was going to be white

Plastic pre flight...

General CommentI think it's about someone meeting and they feel excited and wonderful. But maybe their friends' tell them the person is not as great as they think (If only I could beat the buzz that I have worked to overcome). Then after a while into the relationship, they realize that maybe everything isn't as great as they thought (This terminal's not right, I thought it was going to be white.) They wish is was (If only I could beat the buzz to stop my hands to shake, I could be your rock>, but it's not everything they wanted it to be.

My InterpretationI've listened to this song for the past 5 years and I think I only just now realized what this song might be about. To me this song is about anxiety. It's about that feeling that you get inside of you that cripples you, causing you to worry and stall important things in life turning you into nothing other than a static inoperable person. Its about working hard and often to overcome and succumb to the pressure of anxiety of any sort. It's about jumping in and out of your skin, and getting rid of that shake in your hands, or at least trying to.
