Every day's a good hair day in LA
When you're rolling down the street like Dr. Dre
We're gonna be beautiful, so what do you say?
Every day's a good hair day in LA

It never rains, no humidity, but it sometimes seem like a sin to me
Make me wanna trade my Escalade
But the grass is always greener anyway, hey

Every day's a good hair day in LA
And so on, and so on, like ???
You found me in the cafe with my new screen play
I be lookin good with my brand new surgery

Could you get my head shot to your agent, please?
He could use somebody like me
'Cause you know I'm gonna be famous any day
But the grass is always greener anyway

No autographs please
Hollywood sound good?
Hell yeah, Hollywood sound good
Hollywood sound good?
Hell yeah, Hollywood sound good

Every day's a good hair day in LA
Like the day when Brucie Collins first played the bass
From the woodland hills to the LBC
The palm trees and graffiti gone line the way, baby

When lifting weights gets you in the mood
For Thai/Chinese/Mexican food
And the smog ain't half as bad as they say
Gonna try to get a little funky if that's okay

I said the left coast is the best coast
Cause we came to party
The left coast is the best coast
Cause we came to party

Oh baby cant you see, you wanna get with me
It ain't hard to believe we're in LA

I look good
It's a dream we can achieve
So what do you say, baby?

What? Look out.

Hollywood sound good?
Hell yeah, Hollywood sound good
Hollywood sound good?
Hell yeah, Hollywood sound good

Raise up your latte, extra grande
And wave it from side to side
Raise up your latte, extra grande
And wave it from side to side

I got a parking spot right out front
And I ain't giving it up
Hell no
I got a parking spot right out front
And I ain't giving it up
Hell no

You sexy mama, with the big ass out on the floor
Cause she twist and shout like it's 1964
You can give me what you got but she gonna give me some more
She be swinging them hips till they barracade the door
She said, "Let's do lunch, and by the way,
Your hair looks so nice today."

LA.... Good hair day
Just like yesterday
LA... Good hair day
I gotta look good, babe

Love it! "You sexy mama, with the big ass out on the floor Cause she twist and shout like it's 1964." I guess they literally twisted and shouted back then; would have loved to be old enough to dance in the clubs to the songs of the 50's and 60's. Bet they had some FUN times! Today's a good hair day for me (there are so few and they are so far between) so here's to a song that celebrates the less-nappy look. For once my timing is good! Now if only I had the body to go with the good hair day:)

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
