This song has nothing to do with the internet. It is about a man who is reflecting on his past life and it is depressing him. Every now and then he mentions his girlfriend, asking her to help him out. In the chorus, he realizes that this happens to everyone in life, and it makes him feel better. He has reasons to live.

It is about myspace, or internet chating in general using the popularity and descreetness of of the name myspace as a tool to get that point to the audiance without openly saying what it is. And it goes deeper. I know from experiance most recently involving my ex wife. allow me to explicate.

Night falls and the screen is shining, force deception behind the lines, (It means that te speaker doesn't tell the whole tuth online) -----> Hours wasted aimlessly gone, time and time again. (This line should be obvious, Have ye not been there good sais?)

(The ntire pre Chorus could reffer to a long distance relationship, or a frindship that the speaker desporatelly wants to be more than friendship but is afraid of being hurt again.)

(People who are overly used to online frindships/relationships and not very social in real person to person contact and thus become self-made outcasts and have a hard time believeing they can change.

Hide the lines deceive myself, erase the past from my space, (It could mean something like deleting pictures and comments of/from an ex trying to move on as if you were never with that person.) -----> Images of loneliness sent far across the land, (The only pictures that the speaker now sends are of the speaker alone, and quite lonely.) -----> Once sure, but my eyes are blinded, Frantic charge for a place to hide Lost generations apart, an ancient life returns. (There is a reat deal of confusion in the speaker as to whether he really wants to forget what he had before or move on to something new so soon and he has to start answering questions about what happened between him and his ex "an ancient life returns.")

I only heard this song for the first time when i bought the extended eddition of <U>Ultra Beatdown</U> yesterday. But it describes something close to my life for the past few months.

to me this song isnt about myspace or facebook. its about a man who did something without telling his love, and he is being locked up for it. he is asking his love too wait for him until he is set free. hoping he can survive that long.
