Face first again on the ground
And I cant believe what I've found
She talks, you answer
You take away cancer
I'm lucid and letting you down

You took it all away
You took my promises
I cant control what comes and what goes with it
I talk to God just to see if he's listening
I hope he's not listening to me
No, I hope he's not listening to me

So dont even try to read me
I'm telling it all but the truth
I'm begging you please, oh I hope you believe
Cause I dont wanna leave without you

And I'm down, down on my knees in the rain
I thought I could change everything
I thought I could make myself stop

You took it all away
You took my promises
I cant control what comes and what goes with it
I talk to God just to see if he's listening
I hope he's not listening to me

You took it all away
You took my promises
I cant control what comes and what goes with it
I talk to God just to see if he's listening
I hope he's not listening to me
No, I hope he's not listening to me

General CommentThe lead singer of SPS wrote this song while his mom was fighting breast cancer. She survived and made a full recovery.

"I talk to God just to see if he's listening,
I hope he's not listening to me"
I think that part discribes how a lot of us feel in regards to religion. We feel like we want help from God or someone of a higher power, but we hope the can't hear or see all the terrible things we do on a day to day basis, and we feel guilty for...or maybe that we sometimes doubt the belief of a God when we see a loved one suffer.

"And I'm down, down on my knees in the rain
I thought I could change everything"
People realize how tough life is and sometimes hit a breaking point where they realize they just can't do it on their own.
