Doctor, Doctor
Won't you give me the cure I'm after
With a slight wave of your hand
I will be reborn a man

All it takes is a little commitment
I'm a Patient Patient

Doctor Doctor
Don't you give me the pain I'm after
I know I do it to myself
I'm another book on your shelf

All it takes is a little commitment
I'm a Patient Patient

I've taken everything you gave me
But its not enough
And I'm running out of love

Doctor Doctor
Won't you give me the love I'm after
I know you got yourself aplenty
Won't you write me something steady

All it takes is a little commitment
I'm a Patient Patient

I've taken everything you gave me
But its not enough
And I'm running out of love

General CommentI think this is about a guy who after being cured by a doctor "with a slight wave of your hand, i will be reborn a man" and he thinks the doctor can cure anything in his life. In another sense the doctor could just be a metaphor for someone who helped him his whole life, like his parents.

General Commenthe loves her, he wants her love. she's the doctor; her love is the cure.

the pain bit is about the poisoning of a good relationship we all carry out at one time or another. he's expecting her to give him pain, so he's feeling pain. he knows it's self-inflicted.

    just wants her loooeeeeoooove
