"Do What You Do" as written by and Charles Fink....
There's a pleasure
We must all feel
And it's a pleasure I know
Of losing your heart
And then letting love grow

What can I say
Any simpler
That now is all there is
That you're free to be any person
And you're all that you give

'Cause my bones were made in the womb
And now the brains are leaving my tomb
And every piece will be consumed
By the love my heart endured

But if you do
What you do
Yeah, you'll do fine
Yeah, if you do
What you do
Yeah, well, you'll do fine

Oh, and when love comes a-calling
Don't forget the tune
And when love comes a-calling
Don't forget the tune
And just do what you do

Oh, and the ones who taught you how to live
Oh, they know no more than you
So if you trust what's in your heart
Oh, what better can you do
Than if you do what you do
Yeah, you'll do fine

General CommentThis is my second favorite song from the album.

"What can I say that is simpler then now is all there is"
And I believe it's grains, not brains.

I think it's a sweet little final good-bye on a relationship where he fell in love. But instead of being spiteful and hating her for leaving him, he's wishing her the best and telling her to make sure she finds love again.

i broke up with my boyfriend earlier today, actually, yesterday, and ever since, i've been feeling a bit of regret and have doubted myself and the decision i made. "Instead of being spiteful and hater her for leaving him, he's wishing her the best and teling her to make sure she finds love again," - the second i read that, i stopped thinking, and started hoping Matty would somehow get passed being angry and think that way. this is so lovely.

    General CommentJust a few corrections:
"What can I say that's any simpler?"
"'Cause my bones were made in the womb, and they're the grains that I'll leave in my tomb."

General CommentI really do not think this is a break up song guys. He was in a relationship with the backing singer Laura Marling during the making of this album. It was only after this album was released that he split with her and went into his break up phase for the writing of The First Days of Spring album... So I think its about meeting her and "losing his heart and letting love grow" and he thought he would never find love again but "when love comes a-calling dont forget the tune"....
