Leave the light on for me but go to sleep
You can safely hide underneath the sheets
And I'll deny myself, 'cause I don't wanna fight
I guess we'll just pretend, like every other night

Staying up all night, I watch you breathe
Recounting all the times you couldn't count on me
And I could lie to myself and put these dreams to sleep
But would it be enough, would it give you what you need?

Lay back, rest your head
(Leave my begging on this bed)
Is there nothing left?

Leave the light on for me but go to sleep
Is this all that we're meant to be?
And I'll deny myself but maybe it's just me
I guess I'm just too scared to be the first you need

Lay back, rest your head
(Leave my begging on this bed)
Is there nothing left?
(Our love is left for dead)

Never appreciated, well they could appreciate it
Never appreciated, well they could appreciate it
(Just like all the best parts)
Never appreciated, well they could appreciate it
(Just like all the best parts)
Never appreciated, well they could appreciate it
(Just like all the best parts)
Never appreciated, well they could appreciate it
(Just like all the best parts)
Never appreciated, well they could appreciate it
(Just like all the best parts)
Never appreciated, well they could appreciate it
(Just like all the best parts)

General CommentIt's about a guy that just isn't good enough for the girl. He continuously lets her down, and he feels like if he goes to sleep that it won't fix anything. But it's not all bad, I think that he wants to give her everything...but he can't?

General Commentjust wanted to correct a few parts :)

    the last prechorus line is:
"i guess i'm just too scared, to be the first to leave"

    then the chorus is:

    lay back, rest your head
(we've made a fine coffin of this bed)
    is there, nothing left?
(we're lying lover's left for dead)

    and the outro is:

never appreciated while they could appreciate it
(just like all the best poets)
