"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
If you think like a whore,
then you’re a fucking whore.
Plagiarism is the highest form of flattery. Why would you ever want to be like me?
We are all someone else’s terrible idea.
If you catch the evil twin,
then why would you keep it alive?
If you feel the fucking daggers,
then why not just step aside?
You are all bastard children,
and you’ve taken it all the wrong way. Keep fooling yourself with your unappreciation.
Look into my eyes and know that I can see right through you.
I'll erase you from the thoughts and tongues of everyone you know.
Even if you apologized to me right now it would mean nothing.
Cry to me and beg for mercy all you want, you’re fucking dead.
You're fucking dead, dead.
I don’t care when or why you cry.
I just want to be there when you die.
I’ll be collecting soon.
I’ll be coming for my payment soon.
Look into my eyes and know that I can see right through you.
I'll erase you from the thoughts and tongues of everyone you know.
Even if you apologized to me right now it would mean nothing.
Cry to me and beg for mercy all you want, you’re fucking dead.
You're fucking dead.
You’re nothing but a fucking pig.
And you owe me your life.
Van flip times a thousand.
Don’t believe the hype.
No care ever, (ever.)
No care ever, (ever.)
No care ever, (ever.)
No care ever, (ever.)
then you’re a fucking whore.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

i still dont see how emmure sounds anything like the acacia strain. but it's all cool.
i love both bands.
look up vids on youtube comparing the two, youll see how emmure has ripped their shit more than a few times.
yeah they hardly sound the same

and this song is way different than any emmure song.

and if they do sound the same, isn't that a compliment?

how many bands sound like each other. a lot.

they just need to suck it up in my opinion.

in the end, the acacia strain is full of a bunch of 13 year old girls on their first period.
lol I'd like to see you say that to Vincent or DL
Go listen to Smoke Ya Later by TAS and Rusted Over Wet Dreams by Emmure, its not the exact same but the songs format is the same, like they both talk in the beginning with the dubbed over voice and shit. And personally, they lyrics in this song is okay, but Emmure's R2Deepthroat I think is way better than this song, thats just my opinion.

And btw I live 6 hours from Chicago in Louisville, KY you wanna bring your pathetic ass down here. I will gladly murder you.
I love the tones in this song, especially in the solo before the last stanza. Certified badass for sure. Album as a whole isn't fantastic but there definitely are some rockin songs.
Don’t believe the hype
