How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
Your headin' south for the border
This is the site of the murder, this is the end.
Cause this is the day your life is gonna change
There's no escape, apology would be to late
Now your headin' south for the border
This is the site of the murder
Your armed with hate and a handgun
Girl get in the car I'm ridin' shotgun
Dead men tell no lies, no it wasn't me
This is not your last forgiveness
And I'm not the one who holds the key
So lock it up, lock it up
Hearts will break tonight
Grab the handgun, I'm ridin' shotgun
Were abandoned I feel abandoned we'll avenge them
We will avenge our
Dead men tell no lies, no it wasn't me
This is the site of the murder, this is the end.
Cause this is the day your life is gonna change
There's no escape, apology would be to late
Now your headin' south for the border
This is the site of the murder
Your armed with hate and a handgun
Girl get in the car I'm ridin' shotgun
Dead men tell no lies, no it wasn't me
This is not your last forgiveness
And I'm not the one who holds the key
So lock it up, lock it up
Hearts will break tonight
Grab the handgun, I'm ridin' shotgun
Were abandoned I feel abandoned we'll avenge them
We will avenge our
Dead men tell no lies, no it wasn't me

“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

i love this band but i personally think it is bullshit that you can kick craig mabbitt out of a band that he formed just b/c he had a tour with etf after he is the guy that got to become famous
Okay, thanks I copied it directly from their myspace so it wasn't in great format. :P
i wish someone had showed me this band sooner. they're fantastic. :D
Damn, this is where I 1st heard craig mabbit, and now I'm a huge fan! I've listened 2 The word alive ep, the blessthefall album, and the escape the fate album, and I freaking love his echo like screaming. But this is 100% his best song, it's brutal as fuck, and the LOCK IT UP breakdown is so BEAST. This is why I was so pissed when they kicked Craig out of his own band and replaced him with shitty post-hardcore screamer named Telle. It also ruins the lock it up breakdown, which is messed up.
As for the meaning, I really don't know exactly. My best guess is it's about the drug war, although i'm not sure it was going on when the song was written. If not, it's just about a massacre in mexico.
I Agree with everything you said but ONE thing, Telle is awesome, he's not Craig but he's amazing in a different way. Listen to their new album Deciever.

But yes this is Craigs best song, it's fuken addicting too!
Brilliant song, for all the people i see writing about how they wish they found this song sooner than 2009, its 2011 i find it lol but absolutely epic song, i think that both craig and telle are amazing at both singing and screaming.
