I look at the starlight,
I am shattered by the night
Always run where I can and
I hide where I wanna hide
But it feels so right,
I want it tonight
It feels so right

Oh, I went out of my mind
I am caught here
One more time
I know how it feels tonight
I can do nothing about it
But it feels so right,
I want it tonight
You feel so right

I will wait to love you
I will wait another day
For you I'd leave
All this behind
(Oooh)
I will wait for you tonight
I will waste
Another dream on you
Always run to you, run

I will take the long road
But it leads right back to you
Follow you into the sun
I will steal this time for you

But it feels so right
I want it tonight
You feel so right

Oh, I will wait to love you
I will wait another day
For you I'd leave
All this behind
(Oooh)
I will wait for you tonight
I will waste
Another dream on you
Always run to you

I will wait to love you
I will wait another day
For you I'd leave
All this behind
(Oooh)
I will wait for you tonight
I will waste
Another dream on you
Always run to...you, run

It's "I will waste another dream ON you", not of you. Makes far more sense. Obviously she can't be with this person, not fully, and yes I get the impression it's 'cause they're in a relationship...but she's still holding out for them, even though she knows it's a waste of time, and a waste of a dream, she can't help herself because "I will take the long road, but it leads right back to you." No matter what she does, she can't help but wait for this person. Beautiful song, if very sad.

This song is amazing! One of my favourites :D Thanks to Liz Feldman and This Just Out! :P Cam and Leisha have such amazing voices! Its so catchy and fun.

I think its about being so in love with someone that you'll do anything for them, you'll wait for them even if they don't want you and no matter how hard you try they're always going to be the one. Its beautiful :)

I LOOOVE this song!! I think this song is about a girl who'll wait and wait as long as it takes to get close to the one she desires. She's alone for the moment, thinking of him ("I look at the starlight/I am shattered by the night") but one day she'll break free and approach him ("I always run when I can/And I'll hide where I wanna hide"). The thought of his love feels so right that she wants it immediately.

"I went out of my mind/I'm calling you one more time" refers to her making yet another move on him even though she might see at as a crazy thing to do. But she's going to have to wait until the perfect opportunity ("I will wait to love you, I will wait another day") She claims she'd leave her present life behind to be with him, which probably hints to the fact that she would HAVE to do that to be with him. And of course the "I will waste another dream on you" tells us that she dreams of him at night...

"I will take the long road but it leads right back to you" tells us that whatever way she decides to approach him, she will eventually. Or more litteral, she will go take a walk to his house and whatever road she decides to take, she'll eventually get to him.

I love this song. So ironic that I'm in a VERY similar situation right now and that every word perfectly fits with it :p lol

    My Interpretation

I think it's about a secret love, possibly a homosexual affection for somebody that may be hesitant about coming out or being in this type of relationship. In the first verse, this person (let's just use the pronoun 'she/her') is protected by the the very thing that "shatters" her, which is the night (most likely a metaphor for a lie or cover used to protect the object of her affection). She can "run where [she] can and hide where [she wants] to hide" but this is also breaking her up inside.

She can imagine what it would be like to be with this person, "I went out of my mind", or maybe what it would be like to try to forget them, but is "caught here one more time" meaning she may not be able to fathom life without them or maybe just can't find anything wrong with the relationship. She keeps coming back to it despite the other person not being ready to have that kind of relationship with her. She might not be able to do anything about it because the other person is not ready to return her affection.

When she refers to "waiting another day" and says that she would "leave all this behind", I think she is simply stating that she will be patient and wait as long as it takes for this other woman to love her back. She is willing to leave her life as she knows it or, rather, risk being shut out from family and friends because of her sexuality for this other woman. To her, the love she has for this other woman is worth all that.

Basically she ends by saying she will do things the hard way if that's what it takes to be with this other person. She will wait, borrow time, waste dreaming about this woman when she could be spending time with her, all to give the other woman time to be okay with her own homosexuality. And in the end, hopefully, her object of affection will come to the conclusion that they are right for each other.

It's a classic love story with a twist. Girl1 loves girl2. Girl2 is not okay with it, maybe scared of the repercussions. Girl1 is patient and will wait for eternity for girl2. Romantic!

The person they want is in a relationship already, which explains this

"I know how it feels tonight I can do nothing about it"

Having it feel right, but not being able to do it because they are in another sort've relationship, which is why she's waiting in the first place.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
