Hey, hey, hey. (x3)
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.

I've been sitting in the suicide lane on Highway 99,
looking for a sign in the headlights.

Well, I've been to war with my mind,
but things will be different this time.
I won't be putting up a fight.

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.

Give me your poison pills
'cause I'm
digging my star-crossed grave tonight.
No longer living a lie,
No longer living,
No longer living a lie,
No longer living. (x2)

Hey, hey, hey.

I've been sitting by the train tracks near the backdoor of my mind (of my mind),
waiting for the planets to align.

Well, I've got a pretty good reason
to make this open season.
Hang my head above the mantle piece tonight.

Hey hey, hey hey hey.

Give me your poison pills
'cause I'm
digging my star-crossed grave tonight.
No longer living a lie,
No longer living,
No longer living a lie,
No longer living.

Give me your poison pills
'cause I'm
digging my star-crossed grave tonight.
No longer living a lie,
No longer living,
No longer living a lie.
Hey, hey hey.

Gravedigging! (x3)
We're digging our own graves!

Give me your poison pills
'cause I'm
digging my star-crossed grave tonight.
No longer living a lie,
No longer living,
No longer living a lie,
No longer living.

Give me your poison pills
'cause I'm
digging my star-crossed grave tonight.
No longer living a lie,
No longer living,
No longer living a lie.
Hey, hey hey. (x2)

Gravedigging! (x3)
We're digging our own grave!

General Commentthe band isn't "Christian"... that's just a label. But that doesn't mean that members of the band aren't Christians, and that religious themes aren't reflected in their music... it's nice that you didn't totally bash sonicemerald for interpreting the song the way that he sees it though, skater...

Personally, I think this song is about letting himself and his way of thinking die...
    "no longer living a lie"
I don't think that's saying that he wants to physically die, but that he wants his lifestyle, and his way of living to die... letting die the part of him that is a lie, so that a true, meaningful life can be born.

General Commenti feel like he's been living a hypocritical life thats on the road to death...and "waiting for the planets to align" for everything to make sense and be right and fixed on its own. but he knows he cant live waiting for a change that wont come without him taking the iniative...dying to himself to his old life, and handing it over to God to be changed

General CommentJust a couple of changes:

The chorus is "Give me your poison pills 'cause I'm digging my star-crossed grave tonight"
And I'm pretty sure it ends with "No longer living a lie"

Verse 2 starts with "I've got every good reason"
And the last line is "Hang my head..."

I'm pretty sure about those corrections.

As far as meaning, I think that it's pretty easy to say that this song is about suicide. But, like a lot of TCC songs, it's open to some crazy interpretations and I'm sure something else will come up.

Oh, and also, more fitting with the suicide theme, I think the last line of the first verse is "I WON'T be putting up a fight" ...it kinda sounds like it too :)

General Commentlittle too hardcore for me, but i think the meaning has something to do with how society is "digging [their] own graves" just like with abracadavers and how everyone is putting all this crap in their bodies to look good, but its really disgusting in the end, and i think that this song is almost an extension of that, however i'm not sure what we're killing ourselves with.

I think maybe he's committing suicide to look deeper into what his life is, "looking for signs in the headlights", but just can't find it. Since everyone else is digging their own graves, he's trying to find something else? I don't know, i'm not exactly sure, if anyone else has any insight that would be fantastic

General CommentThis Song Reminds Me of Scary Kids Scaring Kids. Pretty much their whole ablum reminds me of SKSK. The Screaming The Crazy Guitars. This has to be on the top 5 for the best album of the year!

General Comment' I think maybe he's committing suicide to look deeper into what his life is, "looking for signs in the headlights", '

along with that goes the statement referring to astrology (i assume), "Waiting for the planets to align"

he may be tired of fighting battles, and hoping God will save him, although his methodology is flawed, perhaps thinking the only way to save himself from this world of lies is death

General CommentI think this song is about surrendering everything to God. or at least that's how it felt when I did finally surrender... I committed suicide to live. I had to kill my analyzing and stop trying to do everything by myself. Its a very hard process, but it is very rewarding. I dug my own grave, and stepped in with faith that God was really in control like He said He was.
