"Cry For Help" as written by Brent Smith and Dave Bassett....
You've been hiding out
For quite a while now
Living off of people you know
Trying to raise a little money
To pay off all the monkeys
That you met inside the
Rabbit hole
You take a payment from
The white witch that's spoken
To you with Mama kin?
Well, there's a wolf outside
A brick house screaming
"Is someone gonna blow it in?"

Because a mind is a weapon
You see and it's got you on
Your hands and knees
Pull the trigger if you got
A way out, unless you want
To count it off 1, 2 (1, 2, 3)

You better pray that there's
Another way out
You better pray that
Someones listening now
(Doesn't matter what you got)
'Cause when you lie like
The devil himself
No angels gonna hear your
Cry for help!

I know you must really think
It's funny, you had everybody
Pulling me in
Well, that's a little unassuming
Considering that you knew me,
I'm the only one that called
You a friend

Because a mind is a weapon
You see and it's got you on
Your hands and knees
Pull the trigger if you got
A way out, unless you want
To count it off 1, 2 (1, 2, 3)

You better pray that there's
Another way out
You better pray that
Someones listening now
(Doesn't matter what you got)
'Cause when you lie like
The devil himself
No angels gonna hear your
Cry for help!

Count it off, 1, 2 (1, 2, 3)

You better pray that there's
Another way out
You better pray that
Someones listening now
(Doesn't matter what you got)
'Cause when you lie like
The devil himself
No angels gonna hear your
Cry for help!

For help, for help, for help

General CommentI think its a modern day Boy who cried wolf.

Supported by the second part of the first verse. Which combines various references to other stories with morals 2 of which being children stories like the boy who cried wolf.

White White being from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Mama Kin being an Aerosmith song.

And of course the big bad wolf from the 3 little pigs.

It's a about someone he knew that turned out to be a scumbag, possihble con man, loser and he realized he couldn't trust him.

Then the guy comes back begging for help because he has no one to turn to because he betrayed everyone he knew.

General CommentI think this song is talking about a person who has always been a liar and now he's in trouble but no ones going to help him because of his past mistakes and that no one really believes he could ever be honest.
He'll cry for help but no one will listen and no one will be willing to help a person who's always done so many bad things...i'm not sure...any other ideas?

General Commenti think its about someone who u cant trust because they always lie but when they really are in trouble and need help there will be no one there because of all of thier past lieing no one will believe them like when it says no angel will hear your cry for help.

General CommentI am with cochise215 on this one... it isn't so much a boy who cried wolf kind of thing, but someone who keeps getting himself in trouble, but wants other people tp bail him out.

Anyhow... I love the song- the whole album, actually!
Just wanted to add two other references to the list:

Paying off the monkeys=Wizard of Oz
    Rabbit Hole=Alice in Wonderland

General Commenti believe the point brent is trying to potray here is if you lie and cheat your the worst kind of person and if you do dont expect people to reach out and help you

Song MeaningSounds like he was friends with someone who was a liar, seems like a con man, and he was the only one who stood by him. Eventually, even he got fed up with him, and now all the people his friend has stolen from or lied to are coming after him, and now nobody wants to or is gonna hear it. So he better find another solution.

It sounds very similar to the boy who cried wolf.

Lyric CorrectionJust a couple of mistakes I noticed in the lyrics, in the first line "hanging" should be hiding and in the fifth verse the second line shouldn't be "And its got you on your hands and knees," it should be "but you're not gonna use it on me,". Those were the only mistakes I noticed but other then that great job! I put the full corrected lyrics in this comment aswell:

You've been hiding out for quite awhile now
Livin' off of people you know
Trying to raise a little money
To pay off all the monkeys
That you met inside the rabbit hole

You're taking candy from the white witch
You're smokin' tea with Mama Kin
Well theres a wolf outside a brick house
Screamin' "This time I'm gonna blow it in!"

Because the mind is a weapon, see?
And its got you on your hands and knees
Pull the trigger if you're gonna
We all know that you wanna
    Count of 1, 2, 1, 2, 3!

    [Chorus]
You better pray that theres another way out
You better pray that someones listening now (and doesn't want to watch you drown)
'Cuz when you lie like the devil himself
No angels gonna hear your cry for help

I know you must really think its funny
You had everybody fooled in the end
But its a little unassuming considered how you knew me
I'm the only one that called you a friend

Because the mind is a weapon, see?
But you're not gonna use it on me
Pull the trigger if you're gonna
We all know that you wanna
    Count of 1, 2, 1, 2, 3!

    [Chorus]

    Count of 1, 2, 1, 2, 3!

    [Chorus]

    For help
    For help
