"Psychosocial" as written by Corey Todd Taylor, Nathan Jonas Jordison, Paul Dedrick Gray, Sidney George Wilson, Christopher Michael Fehn, James Donald Root, Craig Alan Jones, Michael Shawn Crahan and Mickael Gordon Thomson....
I did my time, and I want out
So effusive fate
It doesn't cut,
The soul is not so vibrant
The reckoning, the sickening
Back at you, subversion
Pseudo-sacred with psycho virgin
Go drill your deserts,
Go dig your graves
Then fill your mouth
With all the money you will save
Sinking in, getting smaller again
Undone, it has begun
I'm not the only one

And the rain will kill us all,
Throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me

Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial

Oh, there are cracks, in the road we lay
From where the devil fell
The secrets have gone mad!
This is nothing new,
But would we kill it all?
Fate was all we had
Who needs another mess?
We could start over
Just look me in the eyes
And say I'm wrong
Now there's only emptiness,
But a message to bring
I think we're done
I'm not the only one!

And the rain will kill us all,
Throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me

Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial

The limits of the dead,
The limits of the dead,
The limits of the dead,
The limits of the dead,

Fake and defenseless lie,
I tried to tell you first,
Your hurtful lies are given out,
Can't stop the killing idea,
If it's hunting season,
Is this what you want?,
I'm not the only one!

And the rain will kill us all,
Throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me
And the rain will kill us all,
Throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me

The limits of the dead,
The limits of the dead

My InterpretationThis might have something to do with me being an Iraq War veteran, but I see it as an anti-war song. "I did my time and I want out." The character is referring that he did his required time, either in Iraq, or in the military as a whole and wants out. "Go drill your deserts, go fill your graves" Pretty self explanatory. "Then fill your mouth with all the money you will save." While on deployment, troops make a lot more than back in the states. It's still not a lot, but compared to state-side, it's a small fortune. "I'm done! It has begun, I'm not the only one." The character is at his breaking point, he's fed up with the system as a whole. However, his psyche has been corrupted by what he has seen and done. There are others just like him. The chorus of the song refers to the overall corruption and death of a generation as a result of this war. "Fake anti-fascist lie." The lie based off of the poor intelligence that caused us to invade in the first place. "I've tried to tell you, but your purple hearts are giving out." The part about the purple hearts seems to have more than one meaning. The purple heart is a medal that the U.S. military members receive for being wounded in combat. Purple heart could also mean a literal heart that is in poor health. "Can't stop the killing idea. If it's hunting season. Is this what you want?" Now the character is out of the combat zone, back state-side, but all he has is a messed up psyche. Once the "kill switch" has been turned on, it doesn't turned off. All he has is pent up stress, homicidal and suicidal tendencies with a society that does not care or even blames him as part of the problem. Hence the whole term "Psychosocial."

General Commentok.. sorry again guys lol these are the final lyrics... haha

I did my time and I want out.
    So effusive,
Fade, it doesn't cut, the soul is not so vibrant.
    The reckoning, the sickening.
    Packaging subversion
    Pseudo-Sacrosanct perversion
Go drill your deserts, go dig your graves,
Then fill your mouth with all the money you will save.
    Sinking in, getting smaller again.
    I'm done, it has begun.
    I'm not the only one.

And the reign will kill us all,
We throw ourselves against the wall.
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me.

    Psychosocial (x6)

Oh, there are cracks in the road we laid,
    But where the temple fell,
    The secrets have gone mad.
    This is nothing new,
But when we kill it all,
The hate was all we had.
    Who needs another mess?
    We could start over,
Just look me in the eyes and say I'm wrong.
    Now there's only emptiness,
    But I'm missing something.
    I think we're done.
    I'm not the only one.

And the reign will kill us all,
We throw ourselves against the wall.
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me.

    Psychosocial (x6)

The limits of the dead (x4)

    Fake Anti-Fascist Lie.
    I tried to tell you,
But your purple hearts are giving out.
Can't stop a killing idea if it's hunting season.
    Is this what you want?
    I'm not the only one.

And the reign will kill us all,
We throw ourselves against the wall.
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me.

And the reign will kill us all,
We throw ourselves against the wall.
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me.

General CommentI think it's more about the things hapening in america. the fact our hope and dreams are being sloly erradicated. "and the reign will kill us al, throw ourselves against the wall" that's saying we're making a bad choice with whom we're going to see elected as president of the U.S. "but no one else can see, the preservation of the martyr in me" meaning that nobody can see the hatred disguises the martyr the outcasts that can help this country if we were actually given a shot to do so. we could make things right but "Oh, there are cracks on the road we lay
    but we're the devil filth
The secret death gone mad?" We've tried to speak out before and say something but we were silenced or told to shut up and sit down "Hey get that back inside,
I tried to tell you first
Your hurtful lies are giving out
Can't stop the killing, I can't help it.
    Is there something psycho?
    Is this what you want?
Im not the only one!" the b.s continues because the people that really do care about the planet haev been deemed as "Heathens" and "Evil" But what we want is this country back to the way it is. we're oftened mixed and confused with the true "mentally insane" when we have some pretty decent ideas about things if people would actually sit down and talk with us instead of looking at us for how we look on the outside(Black clothes, spikes etc etc) Just because we dress for war doesn't mean we're for it. and it doesn't mean we're weak on the inside. but if we could be given that chance to right what has been wronged for 2,000 years. we could maybe make this place a better one to live in. Thank you all. MAGGOT 4 LIFE. ~The Devils Bounty Hunter.

General CommentHey killwestlife. I'm in South Africa too and I laughed so hard when they were trying to put the blame on Slipknot (I realise the situation is no laughing matter). It's as ridiculous as them trying to blame Marylin Manson for Columbine. Music is my escape. This "angry hate music" makes me feel better and keeps me from snapping at the world. The type of people who go to their schools and kill fellow pupils are disturbed in the head already. Music can't do that to you. Oh, and where the parents at?

General CommentYou guys keep getting the lyrics wrong!!!! Buy the actual CD instead of downloading it or get the audiobook for the All Hope Is Gone record. It has the lyrics in there!!!!!! That is how you get correct lyrics! If everyone who posted lyrics would do that we would be better off but you people are STUPID! Well most of you are. In the words of Slipknot: People = Shit

General Comment-um not sure about it becuz i just heard the song. but i think its about religion.
-kinda sounds like he "did his time " trying to follow the faith and he sees how many problems their are and now he wants the religion to "say im wrong " becuz he knows that "there are cracks" and then i think he is talking about fixing the problem by starting a new religion of sorts.
-Psychosocial is "the psychological and/or social aspects of health, disease, treatment, and/or rehabilitation"
-so i guess they say that word becuz they wanna " rehabilitate" the society

keep in mind i just heard this song today so im probly waaay waay off.
