I was born on the 4th of July
With a flag in my hand, and the stars in my eyes
I was born again in 1993
You were born on a mountian top
You were born to laugh, you were born to love
And I think, you might watch too much TV

So honey if you wanna change, you got to rearrange
Just say the words,
and we can run away

And if you go with me,
we could pack up all of our things
Gonna take the last train out of town to the desert tonight
And when we get there,
we'll close our eyes and just disappear
Get a brand new get of wings
And learn to fly
Maybe tonight

I say my prayers but I don't know why
Cause sooner or later we're all gonna die
I may have lost the truth, but the truth did not lose me
And you say that I think too much
But you love how I am when I'm out of touch
And I think I should believe what I wanna believe

So honey if you wanna change, you got to rearrange
Just say the words,
and we can run away

And if you go with me,
we could pack up all of our things
Gonna take the last train out of town to the desert tonight
And when we get there,
we'll close our eyes and just disappear
Get a brand new get of wings
And learn to fly
Maybe tonight

Honey don't you forget my name
You've known me long and well and not damn thing has changed
And I'm locking up all my doors
Cause my soul don't live here no more

And if you go with me,
we could pack up all of our things
Gonna take the last train out of town to the desert tonight
And when we get there,
we'll close our eyes and just disappear
Get a brand new get of wings
And learn to fly
Maybe tonight
Yeaaaaah, maybe tonight

General Commenti love this song! one of my favorite sequoyah prep school songs. it's so happy and always puts me in a good mood. i think the meaning is rather straight forward. it's a guy singing to a girl about how he wants to run away together and basically start over.
