come on pretty, play with me
burn your hood, lay with me
my what big, teeth I have
better to mix, fluids with

take the path of needles to him
dirty girl feelin’ playful
road to ruin paved with pins
hurried clumsy unstable

Beat at the head ‘til you run red girl (pretty cannibal girl)
wake Shieva, I’m gunna Paint Hell Red (little miss vex girl)
beat at the head ‘til you run red girl (night working blade girl)
raise Hades, I’m gunna Paint Hell Red (razor lolly-pop girl)

…and the cat said…
a slut is she, who eats the flesh
drinks the blood, kaka in bed
her play thing, soiled mess
come on puppy, Let’s play dead

smashed beauty tied up with rope
nailed to the bed, beast seduced
(yell) axe girl summons flies and maggots
and if you’re lucky, she’ll slash you

Beat at the head ‘til you run red girl (pretty cannibal girl)
wake Shieva, I’m gunna Paint Hell Red (little miss vex girl)
beat at the head ‘til you run red girl (night working blade girl)
raise Hades, I’m gunna Paint Hell Red (razor lolly-pop girl)

run red run red, run red run

I am horror that you warned of
I bring ruin face to face
Like I’m not a child of God
I breathe revenge in this place

Beat at the head ‘til you run red girl (pretty cannibal girl)
wake Shieva, I’m gunna Paint Hell Red (little miss vex girl)
beat at the head ‘til you run red girl (night working blade girl)
raise Hades, I’m gunna Paint Hell Red (razor lolly-pop girl)

To me, this song describes a girl. Maybe little red riding hood, maybe not. The girl is a sadist who lures men into her bed and then tortures them. I think some of the references to he activities may indicate cannibalism, which makes sense, because Angelspit frequently comments on their fascination with eating human flesh. If you like this song, you might also like their song Devilicious.

    My Interpretation

If you think about the symbolism of little red riding hood plays a major role in the meaing of the story.

In little red riding hood, the wolf attacks or eats the girl(I think).

In the song its oppoisite, little red riding hood takes revenge of the wolf hence "come on puppy lets play dead" and " I breathe revenge in this place"

So its a song about; Revenge

Actually this song is a statement about how the story of little red riding hood was meant to be a lesson telling people not to go into the forest due to the "dangerous wolf". Little Red was and is a tale of how she deserved to get eaten, because she wandered off the path. Angelspit argues with this and say what if Little Red was a cannibal and got revenge. They state it in one of their blipverts #14 I believe. youtube.com/watch

Regardless of what Angelspit says, I just studied Little Red Riding Hood in English Class last year and frankly, in the Grimm Brothers version of the story, it's not like Angelspit's lyrics much at all. For example, all the mother says in the story is "Behave yourself on the way, and do not leave the path, or you might fall down and break the glass, and then there will be nothing for your sick grandmother." She does not say ANYTHING about veering off the path because a wolf might come eat, harass, or stalk her.

Of course the story may have multiple meanings, like a child can understand why not to talk to strangers, but the story was kind of meant for adults too. The wolf ends up falling alseep after his big meal of grandma and Red, and he gets caught offguard by the huntsman. That's symbolic of gluttony, quite obviously.

Not to mention, the last line in that version of the story is by Red, who says, "As long as I live, I will never leave the path and run off into the woods by myself if mother tells me not to." Which has almost to do with her getting eatten. As said prior, her mom didn't tell her "Don't go off the path, or you may be eatten."

I guess the story really can be interpreted in different ways, but I wonder in this case, why the hell would Red want revenge if the wolf gets killed by the huntsman anyways? O.o

... and if Shieva wakes, the world supposedly ends, by the way... I have no idea what 'Hindu' belief has to do with Little Red Riding Hood... but whatever...

Destroyx mentions in an interview (youtube.com/watch) that this song is about a girl getting her revenge on the "big, bad world". I belive Katheraine has already made this point. Watch the Blipvert. It really is quite informative if you're interested in their song's meanings.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
