I know that I've been dancin'
Around the truth ooh whoa
But tell me what the hell I'm supposed to do
And I, I'm a little bit agitated
With a slight scent of denial

I'm callin' all the time I know I interrupt
But it hurts when all I hear is you hangin' up
And (la da da da da-da-da) I won't try that again
I'm callin' all the time I know I interrupt
But it hurts when all I hear is you hangin' up
And (la da da da da-da-da), I won't try that again

(Ooh) La la la la
La la la la
La la la la, la
Shalom?

La la la la
La la la la
La la la la, la

Everybody's going to the party and we're having a good time
And I'm feeling alright tonight
With a better judgment
Everybody's going to the party and we're having a good time
And I'm feeling alright tonight
With a better judgment
Everybody's going to the party and we're having a good time
And I'm feeling alright tonight
With a better judgment
A better judgment

I'm callin' all the time I know I interrupt
But it hurts when all I hear is you hangin' up
And (la da da da da da da), I won't try that again

well since it's christofer drew singing this...

he's saying that he's trying to talk to this girl, but for some reason she keeps basically brushing him off.. but he's really into her. he tries to forget about her by numbing himself by drinking, but he just can't forget about her.

basically what i get out of this song its about a guy whos into a girl but he keeps trying to get in contact with her but she keeps avoiding him but he really wants to be with her but now hes sick of it and frustrated as we all feel at some point when we're romancing.

i think this song is about a boy who cheated on his girlfriend, but he still has feelings for her and is trying to call her to explain what happened.

"Everybody's going to the party and were having a good time And I'm feeling alright tonight With a better judgement"

I remember when no one knew about him and all of a sudden he just blows up. Pretty powerful tool the internet. His voice is rather addicting, but totally agreed ^^^^^

i like he first meaning, but BlackandWhiteDreams's meaning could be right too.

    look at the first verse.

I know that I've been dancing around the truth Whoa, tell me what the hell I'm supposed to do And I, I'm a little bit agitated With a slight scent of denial

he might regret cheating on his girlfriend.

On the contrary I think that in the first few lines he is talking about being convinced that this girl was his and she wants to move on but he asks "what the hell am I supposed to do" because he can only think about being with her and he is somewhat in "denial" about the fact that he can't have her.

in this he says that he is going out with everyone to just have a "good time" because he is trying to just not think about her

and in the end he ends up calling her again and realizes that he shouldn't "try that again" in order to get to her

its sweet because its out of a somewhat desperate lovesick kind of mood.

haha Chris Drew is a champ.

The sound of this song is really upbeat, and it seems like a feel-good song if you don't listen to the words. But yeah I pretty much agree with both of you guys on the meaning.

in the first verse there's no "you", it's just "whoa, tell me what the hell i'm supposed to do"

also, i think in the background instead of "please, don't call" that it's "please, don't go"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran

He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
