Hi, I live in Galway, Ireland, and there's an ancient wood called Coole park where W.B. Yeats used to stay as a guest of his friend Lady Gregory. The woods and it's lake were an inspiration for Yeats so his poem Ragged wood may well be about coole. When I first heard this song it reminded me of these woods.<br /> His initials among other writers and poets can still be seen carved into an old beech tree in the park.<br /> This song also reminds me of Wouldn't it be nice by the beach boys. Its got the same theme of a hope for love, and it bounces along like the Beach Boys song. <br /> " Lie to me if you will" I think he means, tell me you still love me even if it's a lie.
