How does it feel?
When you have it all?
How can you live?
With nothing at all?

Where do you run?
Where do you go?
When the holes in your truth
Are starting to show?

And the rain comes
And the world is on my head
Crave the sun
But I can’t get out of bed

How can you take?
Without giving back?
How does it work?
When it’s really cracked?

How does it feel

And no wonder
Hearts and minds have been won
How does it feel…
And I wonder
How it’s all come undone And the rain comes
And the world is on my head
Crave the sun
But I can’t get out of bed

Want it You got it You’re sorry You bought it You’re sliding
Want it You got it You’re sorry You bought it Can’t hide it
Tell me who do you see
Cause you look a lot like me

How can you take?
Without giving back?
Who do you see?
Cause you look a lot like me

    My Opinion

I think this is a song about a guy that is suffering a lot for something and that now see another guy with his own problems and ask how he can handle with that, from where he takes the strong and the will to go ahead.

awesome song! cant stop listening to it! ok, i think its about buying shit you dont need, being wastefull in this material world, we all are this way, 'you look alot like me' is saying like why are we impulse buyers when people out there barely make enough to buy food. we just need to sit back for a second and realize the things we get for free like the power of the sun and water

I get a different interpretation from the song.

It sounds to me like a serious fall from grace. To me it sounds like someone who had always believed a certain truth and had been okay with bringing other people down in the name of it. However they come across someone who starts picking out what's wrong with this truth and once the main character realizes what's going on, they start to realize who the true evil is and what they had become.

    Just a different view.

i feel this song is about drug abuse and the self loathing that often goes with it especially when trying to go clean. this is an awesome song and i love it, but it also drags me back to a darker time in my life, i remember staring into the mirror after a months on and off any and every drug i could get my hands on saying who the fuck are you and what do think your doing with my life, not wanting to get out of bed because of how shitty i felt and pretty much regretting where i had let myself slide to. This song is very much an insight into a recovering addicts world

I do agree with the drug use notion, but i came away thinking about how this person is reflecting on how selfish they have been and how people are starting to notice - again with the addiction idea, but a buying or taking addiction. They regret what they have been doing and won't face the world because they know it will show, and be thrown in their face. Great song with very thought-out lyrics, another great day for The Offspring :P

    I.... love this song.

I know it's nothing like old school Offspring.... but still, it's amazing.

The drug use/abuse angle makes sense, I'll leave it as that.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
