"Avalanche [Avalanche EP version]" as written by Jonathan Alexander Letcher Albright, Ryan Ackerman Downing, Jonathan David Owens, Meagan Beth Plummer, John Wesley Chester and Michael Craig Deming....
So what's the point of getting so excited?
This will all be over so soon
The lips and looks you have so much pride in
Will be the first to go
I'm gonna hate to see you
With a face like a slate wiped clean
But make no mistake this is no fresh start
I know this is hard
This is the way it's always been
This is the way it always has to be

Skin drips from cheekbones
Dry lips smile and crack
Miracles are made in white rooms
So a mended spine can lift a broken back
Catch a glimpse of heart and home
While eyelids fall like an avalanche
So what's the point of getting so excited?

The highway hums with the echoes of
Our worn down wheels and tired heels
We're starving
We are starving for home
So come home
Everyone writes songs about California
They're singing for the summer and staying young
I'm singing about Carolina
Because I write songs for you

What's the point of
What's the point of getting so excited?
This will all be over so soon
What's the point of
What's the point of
What's the point of getting so excited?

And when your skin drips from your cheekbones
And your lips smile and crack
Come home
Come home
I'll be waiting

As restless as an avalanche.

General Commenti think this is about a guy that loves a girl for who she is, but she is living a life based upon her looks. and he is saying that none of that will last, so when it ends and she starts to fall apart, he will be waiting for her.
that may be wrong.. but still, i love this song.
