"Until We Bleed" as written by Lykke Li Timotej Zachrisson, Mikael Karlsson and Andreas Kleerup....
I'm naked
I'm numb
I'm stupid
I'm staying
And if Cupid's got a gun, then he's shootin'

Lights black, heads bang
You're my drug
We live it
You're drunk, you need it
Real love, I'll give it
So we're bound to linger on
We drink the fatal drop
Then love until we bleed
Then fall apart in parts

You wasted your times
On my heart
You've burned
And if bridges gotta fall, then you'll fall, too

Doors slam
Lights black
You're gone
Come back
Stay gone
Stay clean
I need you to need me
So we're bound to linger on
We drink the fatal drop
Then love until we bleed
Then fall apart in parts

Now we're bound to linger on
We drink the fatal drop
Then love until we bleed
Then fall apart in parts

General CommentThis is one of those songs that touches your heart and you don't know why.

My interpretation of the lyrics is that it's a failed relationship marked by mixed feelings, mixed worlds. Do I stay? Do I go? Sex always complicates things.

In the first verse, she feels overwhelmed. She is partly ashamed at how stupid she can be over him, how vulnerable she can be both physically and emotionally and how much she puts up with and endures. (I'm naked/ I'm numb /I'm stupid/ I'm staying)

It seems that he only feels things for her when they are clumsily fooling around in the dark, drunk and stupid. However, she gives him real love.

They're bound to continue on this unhealthy pattern because that is what she has planned and idealized. Drinking the fatal drop, to me, is about Shakepeare's Romeo and Juliet. Romeo, believing Juliet was dead, drinks a vial of poison. Likewise, she may be drinking the vial over and over again over this relationship's death, it is a reoccurring wound for her. In this sense, she loves until she bleeds. The wound never closes. The pain will be there after they part ways in the morning.

The second part of the song discusses the idea of how unfixable it all is, that time spent trying to understand her or it was wasted. The next line is about burning bridges. If they burn this bridge (move on), he will fall too. Therefore, if this all ends, they will be inconsolable. There will be nothing left to salvage or hold onto.

Door slams of the bedroom, he leaves. Later on he comes back and the cycle continues. "Stay clean / I need you to need me" is a great pair of lines. To her, it seems he only ever feels warmth for her when he's drunk. She wants him to need her, without the alcohol. She wants to feel like there's still love present.

It can be about any type of failure in a relationship. Sex, communication in general, fighting -- All the things exes do can give these feelings of hopelessness and are all capable of making cycles of life.

General CommentThis song is so beautifully written. I can't get it out of my head. My favorite part is "And if Cupid's got a gun, then he's shootin'". I feel like she is saying that it's out of her control. She obviously know it's "stupid" that she's staying. It's detrimental love or as kneesee puts it, it's about "toxic relationships". I think this describes so many relationships "I need you to need me."

General CommentTale of a two sided desctructive relationship, period. Anyone that has been in one know that it takes its toll on both sides and you both don't want it to end, cupid is shooting, even if doors slam and heads bang, even if you call yourself stupid you end up staying.

General CommentIt's this kind of disfunctional relationship but with so much feelings behind that is so strong, that leaving it will be terrible, is like they want each other so bad but they have so strong feelings that hurt each other and... she knows it, despite that, she still love him.

General CommentThis song is so great. The Mikael Karlsson cello version is even better. it takes it to a whole new level of sad and wonderful. Its weird cuz i'm not a huge fan of any other stuff Lykke has done, but i do love this song.
