God is my shepherd
I won't be wanting
I won't be wanting
He makes me rest
In fields of green
With quite streams
Even though I walk
Through the valley
Of death and dying
I will not fear
'Cause you are with me
You are with me

Your shepherd staff
Comforts me
You are my feast
In the presence of enemy
Surely goodness
Follow me
Follow me
In the house of God, forever

God is my shepherd
I won't be wanting
I won't be wanting
He makes me rest
In fields of green
Like quiet streams
Even while I'm walking
Through the valley
Of death and dying
I will not fear
'Cause you are with me
You're always with me

Your shepherd staff
Comforts me
You are my feast
In the presence of enemy
Surely goodness
Follow me
Follow me
In the house of God, forever
In the house of God, forever
In the house of God, forever

    General Commentwhtcanbrwndo4u21:

i think he means he doesn't want anything else because he has god in his life and that's all he needs.

General CommentThis song is basically a rehash of Psalm 23:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He causes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even when I walk in the valley of darkness, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff-they comfort me. You set a table before me in the presence of my adversaries; You anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows. May only goodness and kindness pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for length of days.

    I like it, though.

General Commentand the KJV version is (it's the one I grew up with)
The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the prescence of mine enimies. Thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. May goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord, forever.

;) one of my favorite songs

General CommentYes, the girl who sings with Jon Foreman is Sarah Masen - who is also his sister-in-law. She has some independent music that she's done too, but her vocals in the two ones she sings backup in are by far my favorite songs with her. her voice has changed a lot over the years.
