"Dean" as written by Dylan Kwabena Mills and Iman Yanee Tonge Grant....
Death hits all of us one day
I wish I never had to hear your spirit run away
I got the phone call from Sharice and I was pissed a bit
Cos suicide weren't the way you should of left the planet
I know that sounds insensitive, but in my heart I'm sad
Thinking about the amount of good times we didn't have
But you had beef with Remmy, making things complicated
Now I feel guilty cos that kept our friendship understated
You was a cool brother, we went school together
And there was no doubt that you was biting prick never
I didnt get along with your cousin too tough
Me and your sister did the ting but no funny stuff

I used to see you more time terrier youth club
That's when I started clocking that you'd fallen in love
With that pretty faced, light skinned girl from romer road
You looked love happy but I heard she was a heavy load
Then you had a kid, plus you was on your shotting vibe
To this day I cannot relate to how you must of felt inside
I can only get the impression it was horrible
Cos two twos it left you in the mad hospital
All that pressure must have ruptured your soul man
Felt like your life was out of control man
Your death was fucked up cos it werent anticipated
I seen Matthew Kilsby and he looked devastated
I heard they found body in three parts man
You left behind a lot of broken hearts man
You took a dive from a high rise flat

I saw you a couple months before, I didn't picture that
Like I didnt picture Chris dying, or Carl dying, or Tom dying
Wondering who's next keeps me from crying
Sometimes I hate this fucking world there ain't no denying
Cos living life aint easy but I'm still trying
I hope heaven's cool, if not what's hell saying?
If some people get the chance I'll be shortly on my way
Yeh cos its pure politics on my resume
But public figure status makes me keep it hid away
And nothing's changed in the manor - its the same factors
Same story, every now and then different actors
You ain't missing nothing but we miss you, son
Still I'll see you on the other side blud, one

General CommentDizzee wrote this for his friend called Dean who killed himself jumping off a block of hi-rise flats in London a while back. He was a troubled fella, had a new baby to look after too I believe. There's a littlun that will grow up without his daddy cuz of the weight of this cruel, evil world getting too heavy on the shoulders of so many young people, not just in England but the world over.
